As a Project Planner, your primary responsibility is to transform concepts into tangible results by carefully orchestrating the materials flow for the global deployment of ground networks and data centers that enable worldwide satellite connectivity. This role involves close collaboration with a diverse team of professionals at Viasat, including engineers, program managers, supply chain and procurement specialists, and logistics experts.
The day-to-day- Take full ownership of the materials plan, proactively identifying and closing supply gaps, performing Materials Planning and Production Control Planning activities for the assigned program.
- Use MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to efficiently manage inventory and prioritization.
- Develop solutions to maintain a seamless flow of raw materials, sub-assemblies, and purchased parts.
- Partner with engineering and program management to understand the manufacturing and material aspects of builds.
- Continuously improve processes and optimize inventory, considering Just-in Time and other relevant techniques.
- Develop informative reports on important data such as inventory levels, program status, and production activity, ensuring programs are informed and the company stays on course.
- Perform large scale transactional activities such as Work Order maintenance, inventory transactions and cross site materials transfers
- Analyze Bills of Materials (BOMs) for both standard and custom products, ensuring accuracy and optimize production efficiency.
- Apply sophisticated data analysis skills to optimize outcomes.
- 3+ years experience in Project Planning or a similar role, with a consistent track record of success in managing complex projects.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Industrial Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain Management (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for sophisticated data analysis and reporting.
- Shows excellent analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to translate and implement the materials plan from inception (early BOM release) to project deployment.
- Proficiency in ERP systems ie. Oracle or SAP, and a passion for continuous improvement.
- Collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
- US Citizenship required (due to the nature of the position).
- Advanced inventory transaction and analysis skills.
- Professional certifications (APICS CPSM/CPIM a plus).

Salary range
$71,500.00 - $13,000.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is 89,000.00- 133,000.00/ annually
