What you will do:

  • Provides patient assessment and collection of health data involving patient, family and other health care providers.
  • Coordinates patient plan of care to assure interventions are consistent, safe, timely and appropriate.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with all customers, in person, on the phone and in writing.
  • Individualizes patient and family teaching based on a thorough assessment to meet their specific learning needs.
  • Participates in evaluating quality and effectiveness of nursing practice by participating in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintains professional knowledge in current nursing practice standards, laws and regulations.

  • Successful completion of an Associate's degree or BSN from an accredited school of nursing

Your role

The Sr Analyst, Finance will be the key finance business partner for the Global Advanced Surgery and R&D organization and will have direct accountability and financial oversight for the planning and investment prioritization of the global business, financial close requirements and Business Development support activities.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide comprehensive business decision support on portfolio and innovation strategy and R&D investment prioritization (50%)
  • Develop financial models for investment opportunities to grow the business and provide recommendations.
  • Partner with Marketing leads and R&D Project Managers to understand the category landscape to challenge/validate business assumptions and establish budgets/targets
  • Upload all financial models related to new products launches into the GenSight system and track forecast vs. actual sales.
  • Work closely with the Advanced Surgery President and R&D VP on developing various presentations for the companys CFO, CEO and Board of Directors
  • Proactively identify risks and opportunities, mitigate actions and communicate their implications
  • Design, lead and implement a comprehensive business planning process, including regular Forecast cycles, Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long-Range Plan (LRP) (35%)
  • Lead a cross-functional collaboration between global teams (Marketing, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Tech Transfer project managers, and Research and Development leads) to develop a comprehensive R&D Forecast, Plan and LRP.
  • Oversee FP&A process for business partners ensuring clear timelines, responsibilities and deliverables
  • Develop clear and concise presentation materials for executive management
  • Liaise with Global FP&A and central teams regarding processes and requirements
  • Upload and manage the capital expenditure approval process (CER) within the Pega system
  • Ad hoc projects and support. (15%)
  • Monitor and report on the new product sales globally applying the Vitality Index Dashboard
  • Measure and recommend improvements for forecast accuracy
  • Support BD projects and integration activities as required
  • Support ad hoc initiatives as required

What you'll bring

  • University degree or equivalent experience in Finance/Accounting
  • CA, CPA or MBA Finance designation preferred, but not required
  • Minimum 2 years relevant Finance Experience in planning and Forecasting, Accounting and Management reporting
  • Excellent technical skills, including financial modelling in Excel, Powerpoint and Word (JD Edwards and Cognos experience are assets)
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional problem solving capabilities

Scheduled Hours: Part Time; Night Shift 6:30 pm to 7:00 am, including rotating weekends and holidays.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days, and
  • Nurse Aide in good standing as indicated with the State Registry in which the team member practices.
Education Required:
  • Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED), or
  • High School Graduate.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation which may include use of therapeutic assistive devices, proper positioning, range of motion and special transferring as indicated.
  • Measures and documents blood pressures, TPRs (Temperature, Pulse, Respiration), I & O (Intake and Output), daily weights, and other patient data as requested. Documents accurately in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Performs purposeful rounding under direction of RN and promptly communicates observations, concerns, and needs of patient/family to RN. Documents appropriately.
  • Participates in admission, transfer and discharge process under supervision of RN including room set up, orientation to room, removing linen, and proper management of patient belongings. Ensures patient call light is always in reach of patient and answers call-lights promptly.
  • Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated using approved process for accurate specimen labeling and identification. Maintains competency as required.
  • Completes various errands as directed including pick-up and delivery of trays, charts, specimens, and reports. Maintains and orders stock for nursing area. Cleans equipment and work areas.
  • Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties which require lifting and pushing/pulling while utilizing proper technique and assistive devices. Performs tasks related to nutritional needs of patient under direction of RN to include diet review, tray set up/removal, proper positioning and diet selection.
  • Performs tasks related to maintaining skin integrity to include proper repositioning and skin care. Ensures special patient supplies and appliances are provided and maintained such as TED hose and sequential compression devices.
  • Under the direction of RN and as determined by site/unit requirements, may be required to remove IVs, provide post mortem care, and bladder scans.
  • Practices within policies and procedures of infection prevention by demonstrating hand hygiene and knowledge of sterile and aseptic procedures, proper disposal of contaminated materials and utilizing proper attire when in direct contact with patients in isolation.
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.

Job Description

**This is a Full Time position at 40 hours per week located at Lake Forest Hospital. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. Vascular experience is highly preferred.**

The Nurse Clinician reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • The Nurse Clinicianwill work in a multidisciplinary environment which will require exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, clinical and administrative units. This position will utilize nursing skills to perform patient assessments via phone or in person and implement nursing interventions; as such the ability to use appropriate judgment, independent thinking and creativity when resolving patient care issues. Also responsible for initiating & organizing patient education for the population this unit serves.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment . Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations. Report deficiencies to supervisor immediately. Assist in rectifying deficiencies as requested. Assume responsibility for and supervision of the appropriate care of medical equipment.
  • Provide pre-attending care for patients . For each patient, perform a comprehensive assessment of the chief complaint and patient needs utilizing the nursing process. Based on findings, seek solutions and offer opinions to physicians and other health care providers. Document all nursing assessments in the patient's medical record. Ensure that all documentation is clear, complete and legible. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Understand and uphold the protocols and procedures for release of patient/medical information.
  • Perform routine nursing duties and demonstrate clinical competency . Independently perform routine nursing duties including phlebotomy, medication administration, measurement of vital signs, preparation of lab specimens, etc. Demonstrate clinical competency when performing complex specialty-related procedures, including conscious sedation, chemotherapy administration, inseminations, filling and adjustment of implantable pain pumps and excision and drainage of wounds.
  • Interpret and define abnormalities detected in tests and procedures, then take appropriate remedial action . Document all interventions in the patient medical record as appropriate. Ensure that all documentation is clear, complete and legible.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other departments . Communicate and collaborate with other clinical and administrative departments in order to coordinate appropriate patient care, as needed. Communicate with outside agencies or facilities as appropriate.
  • Triage and prioritize incoming telephone calls . Triage and prioritize incoming telephone calls using clinical assessment skills and service standards. Document all assessments the patient medical record as appropriate. Ensure that all documentation is clear, complete and legible.
  • Manage urgent/emergent medical situations as appropriate and in accordance with the organization's protocols for medical emergencies and cardiac arrests. Obtain and/or operate emergency equipment according to relevant standards.
  • Serve as a resource for staff and physicians for daily problem solving and decision-making . Maintain a consistent alertness to patient care needs and take a proactive approach to address/resolve issues. Delegate appropriate tasks according to Illinois law and organizational protocols to Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants.
  • Comply with all existing policies and procedures related to patient care . Make recommendations to management regarding new policies and procedures that may improve the patient experience. Assure that new policies and procedures are implemented in a timely manner.
  • Initiate and coordinate patient education . Ensure that patients understand educational materials and can exhibit return demonstration when pertinent. Provide teaching to staff on both a formal and informal basis. Participate in community outreach education, patient support groups or specialty-related educational programs offered to hospital and community nurses, as requested.
Qualifications

Required:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Registered Professional Nurse licensure in the State of Illinois.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR Certification.
  • Current experience within past five years or new nursing graduate within past two years. If less than six months experience, approval required from NMG Director of Professional Development.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred (may be required for some roles within Oncology)
  • 1-2 years' experience in ambulatory or acute care
