Seeking a Surgery Scheduler for our practice who provides clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care. What you will do in this role:
+ Obtains CPT and ICD-10 Diagnosis codes and other clinical information as required for treatment of the patient from practice staff; seeks assistance from practice and facility coders as determined through practice and family processes
+ Determines O.R. time needed for the procedure and works with Facility to ensure procedure is scheduled, daily schedule is streamlined and arranges necessary anesthesia coverage, as determined through facility processed. Ensures all requirements for the procedure have been obtained and confirmed with the facility or other parties to include medical/imaging records and needed equipment/instruments.
+ Verifies/confirms physician is credentialed at the Center of Facility before scheduling the patient.
+ Ensures efficient coordination of provider clinic and facility schedule which could include awareness of provider's schedule and coordination of provider time-out, travel, meetings, conferences, and continuing medical education.
+ Supports and adheres to HCA Code of Conduct, related Ethics and Compliance policies, and HIPAA requirements
+ This practice handles Cardiothoracic procedures:
+ Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)
+ Heart valve repair or replacement
+ Aortic aneurysm repair
+ Lung resection (lobectomy, pneumonectomy)
+ Esophageal surgery

What Qualifications you will need:

Our ideal applicants are those who want to contribute to the achievement of quality care standards, as well as the growth and development of a VA academic hospital program. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. The Dentist provides quality patient care in collaboration with other health care professionals. The Oral Surgeon will consult with patients about treatment options, perform surgeries and keep abreast of the latest advances in surgical and dental technology. Diagnosing and managing pathological or irregular oral conditions. Diagnosing and treating oral and maxillofacial medical conditions, including oral cancer, cleft palate, and temporomandibular joint disorders. Performing comprehensive surgical care, including complicated tooth extractions. Performing oral and facial reconstructive surgery to repair damage from traumatic injury or serious illness. Administering Anesthesia as required for surgical procedures. Creating comprehensive treatment plans for reconstructive and corrective jaw surgery. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. + Evaluate patients prior to surgery

+ Participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, debriefing, and universal protocols, according to hospital policy
+ Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
+ Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while managing evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives
+ Be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team - consisting of the provider(s), surgeons, surgical technologists and more
