- Demonstrate pharmacologic knowledge including indications, contraindications, side effects, interactions, and adverse effects of pharmacologic agents.

- Practice clinical care informed by evidence-based literature.
- Instruct and counsel patients in matters related to health care management including diet, medication and physical and mental health needs and refers to the appropriate specialists when appropriate.

+ Keep assigned areas cleaned and stocked for future exams.
+ Assure confidentiality of patient information and medical records.
+ Sterilize instruments and maintain quality assurance documentation.

Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will room patients, take and document vital signs, assist providers with medical exams, and perform accurate charting, assessments, and interventions. You will collaborate with medical providers regarding phone messages, pharmacy refills, and ancillary test results in a timely manner. Additionally, you will maintain current knowledge and capability to perform all clinical procedures and equipment maintenance, respond to clinical emergencies, and ensure optimum patient confidentiality and safety. Adherence to infection control protocols and the use of personal protective equipment is essential.
Responsibilities
+ Room patients, take and document vital signs, and assist provider with medical exams.
+ Perform accurate charting, assessments, and intervention and follow-up per scope of practice.
+ Collaborate with the Medical Provider regarding phone messages, pharmacy refills, and ancillary test results in a timely manner.
+ Maintain current knowledge and capability to perform all clinical procedures and equipment maintenance (i.e., vision, audiometry, lab testing).
+ Respond to and actively participate in all clinical emergencies and maintain emergency equipment.
+ Maintain optimum patient confidentiality and safety.
+ Adhere to infection control, universal precautions, and use of personal protective equipment as needed for all patient care procedures, maintenance of equipment, and disposal of waste.
+ Perform any additional/miscellaneous duties as requested by the management team within the scope of knowledge/ability.

Work Environment
The role is based in an office setting in Huntington Beach, operating Monday through Friday. The office has 6 providers, with a maximum of 4 working per day and a minimum of 2. Each provider sees 22-24 patients per day. The support staff includes 3 members in the back office and 4 in the front office. The providers have a long history of patients, with some patients growing up with the practice from infancy to 18 years old. We seek someone interested in a long-term commitment who can work effectively in a collaborative environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
