The Certified Medical Assistant functions as an important member of the healthcare teams by providing basic clinical, clerical, and technical support to assist providers in planning for patients' care, comfort, and safety. The individual performs in a manner consistent with Marshfield Clinic Health System's (MCHS) mission, policies, and initiatives while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
**JOB QUALIFICATIONS**
**EDUCATION**
_For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation._
**Minimum Required:** Graduate of a Medical Assistant program **OR** Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) diploma **OR** applicable coursework to obtain license below.

**CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES**

**Minimum Required:** Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire and one of the following:
+ Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification awarded by the American Association or Medical Assistants (AAMA)
+ Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) registration from the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
+ Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) registry from the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
+ Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Wisconsin or equivalent
+ National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
**Preferred/Optional:** Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
+ 32 hours; 4 days/week; variable day off
+ Position will float between the Mosinee and Wittenberg Centers
+ Includes float pay differential
