Job Description
Job Description
Our client is not your average CPA firm.
Ranked as one of their city's Best Places to Work , an Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing Company , and one of Accounting Today’s Best Firms to Work For , this team is redefining the client-accountant relationship.
They're bold, strategic, and purpose-driven—and they’re looking for an Accounting & Tax Manager to help lead a client-centric, value-focused accounting experience for the small businesses they serve.
About the Role
As the Accounting & Tax Manager , you’ll supervise monthly accounting processes, guide tax engagements, and be the go-to person for a portfolio of small business clients. But this isn’t a role buried in back-office chaos or stuck in the traditional tax season grind.
This is a relationship-first, client-facing position —you’ll become a trusted client advisor and leader within a dynamic, growing team.
What You’ll Do
Lead and supervise the monthly accounting and tax process for a portfolio of clients.
Serve as the primary point of contact for client communication and strategic planning.
Ensure timely, accurate financials and tax filings while spotting opportunities to add value.
Coach and develop team members—build a bench of rising accounting talent
Collaborate internally to improve workflows and leverage technology for scale
Contribute to an environment where teamwork, fun, and results go hand in hand
You Might Be a Great Fit If…
You’re tired of the “fire drill” culture at most firms—late nights, surprise emergencies, and never-ending tax seasons.
You want to work directly with business owners across a wide range of industries.
You’re looking for a firm where your personality matters as much or more than your knowledge of debits and credits.
You want a seat at the table , not just a spot in the org chart
You believe accounting can be fun, engaging, and rewarding (and maybe even involve a team bar )
You’re motivated by impact and reward, not micromanagement
You value flexibility, transparency, and a team that actually enjoys showing up every day
What You Bring to the Table
CPA or EA preferred, or equivalent experience with tax and accounting management
Minimum 5 years of experience in public accounting, preferably with client-facing experience
Strong grasp of GAAP, tax compliance, and advisory-level client service
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and mentor staff
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Experience with cloud-based accounting platforms (QBO, Xero, etc.) and workflow systems
What’s in It for You
Competitive Salary + Performance-Based Bonus Structure
Generous PTO + Paid Volunteer Time Off
Company-Paid Health, Dental & Vision Insurance
Flexible Hours + True Work-Life Balance
Ongoing Professional Development + Career Growth Path
- A team that cares about your success and your future
Timing is Everything… or Maybe It’s Not
We know it’s busy season—and we respect your loyalty . But if this opportunity resonates with you at all, we’d still love to start the conversation. No pressure. No pushy sales pitch. Just a conversation to explore if this could be your next move.
Apply Now
If you're an experienced accounting professional who wants to lead, grow, and make a real difference in the lives of small business owners—and have a little fun along the way—this is your kind of role.
Let’s connect.
