**JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:**
Duties include preparing and reviewing sales and use tax returns and other state and local miscellaneous tax returns. Preparing and reviewing property tax returns and valuations. Providing tax guidance for contracts and purchases of materials and equipment. Defending sales and use tax audits, including obtaining supporting documentation, preparing schedules to support the findings and researching sales/use tax audit issues. Monitoring and ensuring compliance with any new tax laws and regulations. Assisting with implementation of planning opportunities and process improvements.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent work experience.
MBA is a plus
**Minimum Experience required of the position:**
+ Tax Specialist, Sr Staff 8+ years of relevant work experience

After account is setup, a quality review is conducted to ensure accuracy. Collaborates with FLT group to oversee the transfer of prior payroll balances from clients' former payroll providers.
+ Review and confirm account setup with client to ensure understanding and client satisfaction. Assists clients on initial login and trains on selected products, services, processes, and procedures. Asks open ended questions to understand clients' business and to broaden business value by being able to recommend products and/or solutions.
+ Analyzes sales contracts for completeness and accuracy, and conducts a gap analysis to ensure clients have the appropriate products and services for their business needs. Schedules training time with the client to review solutions and tools available within HR bundle as part of onboarding the client. Establishes a relationship with clients by way of a welcome call to ensure optimum product awareness and utilization, and sets overall expectations. As client status updates and additional HR needs surface the sales group is engaged.
+ Supports clients during and after approved number of error free payrolls to ensure accuracy, understanding, and to resolve issues in a timely and professional manner. Runs necessary adjustments if applicable and ensures all features have started prior to turnover.
+ Maintains existing knowledge base and builds onto it by learning new products, services, processes, and procedures. Keeps up-to-date with payroll/legal regulations.
+ Determines clients' transition date to move from the Implementation group to Client Services by gaining commitment of readiness from clients and then communicating the turnover to the client and appropriate internal groups.

As a Tax Specialist within the Payroll Tax team, you will join PNC's Human Resources organization. The position is available in one of the following locations: Pittsburgh, PA, Cleveland, OH or Birmingham, AL.
This position is primarily based in a location within PNC's footprint.

**Job Description**
+ Strong contributor to the organizational tax reporting, tax planning, and compliance function.
+ Completes accurate tax returns to minimize the tax obligations of the organization. Research, monitor, and learn appropriate federal, state and local tax regulations and obligations.
+ Preparing appropriate tax forms and instruments for filing with federal, state and local jurisdictions.
+ Coordinating, facilitating and resolving all taxing authority inquiries and audits.
+ Mentoring junior staff on appropriate regulations, filing procedures and internal communication needs. Keeping up-to-date with and advising others of organization-related tax regulations at the federal, state and local levels.

Base Salary: $45,000.00 - $112,450.00
Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
