HBK Engineering is seeking a Field Lead. The position is responsible for leading a two to three person field crew which will gather field survey measurements using Total Station or GPS survey equipment. This individual will work directly with the safety manager and office leadership to meet the needs of HBK’s field services. This position will be traveling up to 100% of the time. 


  • Conducts surveys to ascertain the locations of natural features and man-made structures on the surface and underground.
  • Adjust and operate surveying instruments such as Total Station and GPS survey equipment.
  • Perform make ready engineering for aerial plant
  • Records survey measurements and descriptive data using notes, drawings and sketches.
  • Searches for property corners and survey monuments.
  • Positions and holds vertical rods, or targets that Total Station operators use for sighting to measure angles, distances, and elevations.
  • Lays out grids and/or determines horizontal and vertical controls.
  • Compares survey computations with applicable standards to determine adequacy of data.

**Summary:**
Meta is seeking a data center Lead Electrical Subject Matter Expert for our Data Center Facility Operations team. Our data centers serve as the foundation upon which our systems operate to meet the demands of our customers. The Lead Electrical Subject Matter Expert will be a part of the Facility Operations team and will lead and manage a team of electrical SMEs who are the data center electrical system technical operations experts. The Lead Electrical Subject Matter Expert will need to have a broad understanding of electrical system and equipment function and will be responsible for procedure-based electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, training, and project oversight. The candidate will need to be experienced in Low Voltage & Medium Voltage power distribution, electrical protection & controls systems, UPS and battery systems, electrical testing, applicable electrical codes and standards, and have a basic understanding of mechanical systems. In addition to technical skills, this candidate will be equipped with leadership and management skills that will be essential for team alignment to global strategies.
**Required Skills:**
Lead Electrical Subject Matter Expert Responsibilities:
1. Hire, develop, mentor, and manage an onsite team of electrical subject matter experts, overseeing performance and HR aspects
2. Ensure effective collaboration between local electrical teams and applicable local and global teams
3. Serve as an onsite technical/consultative resource for electrical infrastructure systems and equipment, with a focus on practical application
4. Contribute to the development and implementation of the site's electrical safety program
5. Plan, resource, author, or approve work packages for electrical troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, and maintenance activities, assessing and mitigating personnel and system risk
6. Conduct or oversee hands-on troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, and maintenance of electrical equipment
7. Manage electrical system configurations and component upgrades to ensure system integrity and compliance with best practices
8. Provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QAQC) oversight of construction projects and maintenance activities
9. Lead and/or participate in root-cause analysis activities related to electrical infrastructure systems and equipment
10. Provide training to Critical Facility Engineers and other cross-functional teams on electrical equipment, systems, procedures, and changes
11. Review operating equipment data for electrical system health, monitoring for abnormal trends to mitigate and prevent equipment failures
12. Manage vendor relationships for electrical maintenance and retrofit work
13. Provide feedback on global electrical maintenance strategies and global electrical system design improvements
14. Significant travel may be required during the first 1-3 months for initial training/onboarding, with ongoing occasional travel for factory witness tests, collaboration, and other business needs
**Minimum Qualifications:**

15. 8+ years relevant electrical industry experience or electrical trade level experience
16. Bachelor's degree in related field plus 3+ years relevant electrical industry experience will be considered in lieu of 7+ year electrical industry experience
17. 3+ years in team management
18. In depth understanding of critical facility operations and procedure-based work environments
19. Comprehensive knowledge of power equipment and systems, including design, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and construction
20. Proficiency in interpreting electrical plans, specifications, and shop drawings
21. Familiarity with mechanical, controls, and life safety monitoring systems used in critical environments
22. Experience with blueprint/CAD drawing interpretation
23. Work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
24. Proficient in computer systems, including document management, spreadsheets, and email

25. Experience working with blueprints/CAD drawings and computer systems (documents, spreadsheets, email)
