Job Description DPR Construction is seeking a project accountant with at least 7 years of cost and/or commercial construction accounting experience. This individual will be ultimately accountable for day-to-day project accounting, leadership, and other duties in our SoCal business unit, with offices in Newport Beach and Pasadena and projects in Los Angeles, Ventura, Riverside, and Orange Counties. Either office location can serve as the primary work location. Lead project accountants collaborate closely with all members of the project team (including project executives, project managers, engineers, superintendents, and field office coordinators) as well as other leaders across the organization. Responsibilities include the following. Serve a dual role as an integral part of both the project team(s) and the Finance & Accounting team. Timely and accurate preparation of owner billings and supporting documents, collection of payments, and responsibility for certain elements of subcontractor compliance. Timely and accurate entry of project billing and cost transactions and adjustments for projects, to include tracking and reporting, as appropriate. Manage subcontractor requisition and disbursement processes, to include assigned holds. Ownership and review of project financial data with project teams to ensure accuracy including setting up of projects. Set-up, review, and maintenance of labor rates and other project data. Review and summarize owner contracts to understand accounting requirements. Professionally interface with and respond to inquiries from outside parties such as clients and vendors. Coordinate audit requests with the DPR Internal Operations Review and/or the DPR External Audit Liaison teams. Collaborate with corporate staff. Function as a subject matter expert; lead discussions and initiatives; actively make and solicit recommendations. Take primary leadership responsibility for project accounting team members in collaboration with others. Attract, select, train and onboard new talent. Connect with and coach team members; provide ongoing and regular feedback on performance via both formal and informal assessments, support goal setting and achievement, to include career development, to maintain a high-performing team. Monitor workload and job satisfaction of team members including workload assignment of project accountants and maintain a project master list of key project stakeholders and information. Assign various tasks to team members; engaging where there are opportunities for improvement, or a task is stalled. Actively and clearly communicate essential information and updates to others, ensuring any training is completed as applicable. Oversee project closeout process, working with project accountants and relevant team members to ensure timely closure and collection of retention. Promote Project Accounting Best Practices and continuous improvement. Advocate for and represent the project accounting team. Support Controllers and business unit and regional leaders by performing the following with support as needed. Analyze and review with leaders of overhead expenses, overhead labor, purchasing card expenditures, and employee expense reports, to include research and management of transfers. Analyze and review with leaders of open receivables to support timely collection. Manage month-end close processes, such as over/under billing analysis, cost accrual reporting, and billing and cost postings. Review, authorize, and resolve any discrepancies with subcontractor daily disbursements. Actively communicate key updates related to the project accounting team to Controllers. Review of Cash Position on projects and communicating with other project accountants and project teams to ensure positive cash flow. Serve as an example of and be an active promoter of DPR Culture. Qualifications We are looking for a flexible, detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines. The successful candidate will possess: Excellent listening skills and strong oral and written communication skills with demonstrated success working in a highly collaborative environment. The ability to independently identify, analyze and resolve the most complex issues. Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and in accounting cost management software; experience with CMiC and Textura applications is highly preferred. 7+ years of experience as a cost accountant within the construction industry on complex projects Demonstrated ability to professionally communicate and effectively collaborate with a wide variety of individuals to include leaders. Experience with and a passion for coaching and leading others is preferred. Suggested: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field or CCIFP. A solid understanding of the accrual basis of accounting. A strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude. This position is salaried. Job Description:
This Project Engineer position will serve as the Program Engineer Lead and will lead and drive all technical aspects of the program, develop schedules, monitor budget, drive task completion and coordinate with suppliers, customers and engineering design team. They will also work on the development and production support with Naval power or power conversion systems for Military production. Products consisting of complex electro-mechanical assemblies.
The ideal candidate for this position comes from a background in systems engineering, engineering IPT lead, technical program manager, or other engineering function with leadership responsibilities.
The project assigned to this Lead Project Engineer would be a large scale complex development program and they will be expected to lead their program with no supervision and will provide guidance and coaching to other project engineers in the department. Development efforts being led will be electrical and mechanical in nature, with designs from multiple subcontractors as well as internal engineering design and integration. There can be approximately 5% of travel to subcontractor and customer sites.
Essential Functions:
+ Provides technical leadership, acting as a Program Chief Engineer with a Chief System Engineer on issues related to subcontractors, suppliers and customers, supports management of the technical risks and opportunities to optimize program performance
+ Responsible for the day-to-day tactical duties for assigned programs, including leading teams of engineers and managing their own workload.
+ Oversees and coordinates the cost/schedule/technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer.
+ Partners with Systems Engineering to ensure design reviews and readiness events are completed on time with satisfactory presentation material.
+ Helps write and review Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables such as technical reports, memos and test results.
+ Presents program progress and status to customer program office and technical teams.
+ Serves as point-of-contact between engineering project management and planning, engineering project team, and line management.
+ Assesses engineering project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
+ Coordinates with the Manager for Project Engineering and site Director of Engineering.
+ Develops mechanisms for monitoring engineering project progress and for intervention and problem solving with engineering project managers, line managers, and customers.
+ Leads risk and opportunity management for their assigned program.
+ Provides the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received.
+ May support Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and writing of Bases of Estimates (BOEs) to support proposal work.
+ Viewed as an expert and/or resource within the field by peers in and outside the organization with an in-depth knowledge of project management.

+ Able to travel up to 15%.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience, Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience, or in lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
+ Ability to obtain US DOD Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship
+ Multi-Disciplined Team Lead Experience 9+ years after receiving Bachelor's degree.
+ Must have prior experience being a Technical Lead on a developmental or production program.
+ Working knowledge of DOD program environment; esp. FAR, ITAR, FMS, DCS, MIL requirements.
+ Exerts influence in the successful execution of programs & projects through review of actions such as but not limited to review basis of estimates (BOE), tracking program technical performance measures, and ensures programs adherence to engineering processes and best practices.
+ Experience with Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Organizational Breakdown Structures (OBS), and change management withing the Program Management Baseline (PMB).

+ Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings of complex components.
+ Basic understanding of computer network component functions (routers, servers, switches, firewalls).

How you will make an impact You will act as the project leader on the roles you are running, driving the search forward, identifying blockers and bottlenecks along the interview process, search parameters, and candidate funnel, and ensuring continuous learning and improvement. Conduct very thorough initial screens that include carefully crafted interview questions mimicking later-stage hiring manager interviews, often taking 45-60 minutes. Analyze key role requirements to craft, conduct, and iterate on interview questions to surface valuable insights about candidates' performance, skills, traits, and other critical dimensions. Primarily own experienced hires in the U.S. and Canada across various functions including product management, business operations & analytics, product design/research, growth marketing, communications, legal, content, HR, and finance. You are: Deeply curious, seeking to understand the business, teams, and candidates at a profound level. A driver, impatient and relentless in pushing for results. Passionate about delivering a stellar recruiting experience and perfecting your craft. Ideal profile 7+ years of recruiting experience with increasing complexity.
