**What You Will Do:**
This Principle Repair Design Engineer (RDE) position is with the Aftermarket and Sustainment Engineering Military Repair Group. The RDE is responsible for the development of repairs for the F135 program, and includes development of the repair concept, writing of the repair, obtaining approvals, and coordination with the end user. In addition a Principle Engineer is expected to mentor and assist other members of the team incompletion of their tasks and obtain signature authority so that they may sign off other's work. The Principle Engineer will take the more difficult, complex and time sensitive tasks.
+ Participate in a multi-discipline team to establish repair design requirements and ensure repairs are safe, durable, and meet the quality requirements of the OEM parts.
+ Create technical documents that provide engineering requirements for repairs.
+ Execute business critical tasks, and "Fleet Leader" tasks to serve as examples for emerging technologies as well as update Repair Method Work Instructions and Repair templates within Engineering Standard Work to incorporate current best practices and update other documents to support the Design Discipline chief's Engineering Standard Work continuous improvement efforts.
+ Create and deliver focused training to support proficiency development and noted Quality Control Process Clinic opportunities as well as provide design input to technology programs aligned with the Sector.
+ Continue to develop an improved personal understanding of the technologies, engine systems, business systems, regulations, and business needs of the sector. Also, foster an environment of creative technical ownership within the collaborative community of Global Services Engineering.
+ Provide onsite audits for repair Suppliers and Overhaul Depots in support of repair Source Demonstration and Tooling qualifications.
+ Support the Customer in the resolution of field supportability issues.

**What You Will Do:**
The MSEN Engineering Design and Product Definition (PD) Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership and technical execution for the Design and PD discipline contributions relating to the design, development, validation, certification, production and aftermarket support for MSEN modules and hardware for P&W Commercial and Military engine programs with a mixture of classified and unclassified programs.
The person in this role is a member of the MSEN organization's senior leadership team, and as such, will participate with executive leadership in the development and implementation of the organization's strategic goals and vision. The individual will have direct supervision of the MSEN Design and PD discipline chiefs, fellows and discipline managers and their teams to drive transformation and technical capability through P&W's Leadership Operating Model (LOM).
The director instills trust, matures relationships, and will be responsible for building horizontal alignment and engagement with the Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPT) & System Integrated Product Teams (SIPT), as well as with peers across the P&W value stream. Substation Engineering is responsible for working on substation design, maintenance, and support, optimizing the cost and performance of substation equipment on the transmission/distribution system. Substation Engineering also supports emergent and/or equipment failures, as necessary, to support operations.
The Senior Engineer is responsible for performing engineering assignments requiring professional mastery of subject matter and extensive experience associated with electric distribution and transmission substations. Acts as a project engineer for all substation project assignments and is accountable for leading the engineering design effort, including development of engineering solutions and ensuring quality of deliverables, managing engineering schedule, coordinating the efforts of other assigned engineering disciplines and contract engineers, and close coordination with procurement and construction personnel. Other project specific duties include defining the concept, scope, and detailed engineering aspects of substation and switching station projects, supporting the preparation and development of project cost estimates and schedules, supporting the preparation of capital project budget authorization documents, and conducting engineering studies associated with the design and application of substation equipment and materials. Works closely with the Engineering Design and Drafting group to prepare, review and issue engineering drawings in support of both Capital and Expense projects. The selected candidate must possess the ability to organize engineering projects, work to a schedule, be assigned to multiple projects of varying degrees of complexity, and follow through on all assignments as necessary to support project design from Scoping through Energization and As-Building. Responsible for ensuring that the Eversource transmission and distribution systems are designed to high quality standards that provide customers with safe, reliable, competitively priced and environmentally sound electric service.
**Essential Functions:**
+ Applicable experience in 5kV through 345kV substation design in accordance with associated IEEE/ANSI standards.
+ Acts as a technical leader and applies standard engineering techniques and procedures on complex projects
+ Provides technical guidance and leadership to other engineers to assist in the development of their technical skills.
+ Fills the role of project engineer providing electrical discipline leadership, including interdisciplinary coordination, and scheduling.
