Provide customer with telephone assistance. Tasks include both field and in-house troubleshooting and repair of most products. Will be responsible for training customers and Toshiba personnel. Will follow departmental procedures and prepare all necessary documentation and reports (ex. service call report, monthly activity report). Maintains technical support database. Competent in one product family with a working knowledge of at least one other family. Remain current on Technology and product by self-directed learning. Maintain and update a central library of product manuals and engineering design change data for the field Service Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer telephone technical support assistance.
  • Assist other service personnel with troubleshooting, repair, and product application problems.
  • Train customers and Toshiba employees on product trouble shooting, repair, and application.
  • Maintain and update a central library of product manuals and engineering design change data for the Field Service Department.
  • From time to time may be required to perform start-up and repair of most company products , both in-house and at customer locations.
  • After hours on call support as required.
  • Prepare a service report for each job worked on with detailed information so that charges can be calculated and allocated. The report must enable the manager to decide on questions of warranty and answer customer questions, both technically and regarding billing.
  • Follow established procedures to account for, and safe guard, resources taken to job sites as required.
  • Assist manufacturing and engineering in identifying and correcting problems with Toshiba equipment and parts.
  • Maintain company issued tools, equipment, and spare parts, keeping tools and test equipment calibrated and maintaining records of same.
Education/Certification:

Prefer one of:
  • Technical university degree/Associates degree
  • Military power electrical training program
  • or electrical apprenticeship program
Skills & Experience:
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and repair of group's products
  • Minimum of one years experience in trouble shooting and repair
  • Has attended most in-house service training schools for products
  • Tools/Equipment:
  • Common hand/power tools, electronic test equipment, chart recorders, high voltage test equipment, programmers for micro processor based equipment such as PLC's, and computers
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to perform all physical functions normally associated with and electrical worker ata start-up and.or construction site
  • This will include lifting, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, working in cramped locations, and in dusty non-climatically controlled situations
  • This is a physically strenuous job
Work Environment:
  • Electrical shock, eye damaging flashes, burns, and in some locations exposure to toxic chemicals, explosives
Travel:
  • Up to 15% to 25%

Responsible for resolving HPE hardware and software infrastructure (servers, network, security, etc.) issues using systems analysis techniques and procedures in support of HPE customer's data centers.

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

•Operational management tasks including, working to resolve escalations, and clearing blocking issues to enable continued delivery of datacenter support activities

Must-Haves:

•Must have a basic understanding of Storage theory, Server layout and Network concepts.

This Field Service Engineer would be joining a rapidly growing international team to provide the highest quality service to some of the industry's leading producers. This team focuses on the maintenance, repair, and commissioning of large industrial generators and auxiliary equipment. This Field Service Engineer should have at least 3 years of experience working with electrical power generating units and any of the mechanical components associated with the system. Ideally, the team member has worked in the oil and gas field and can affectively translate their field skills into this unique role. This position is primarily responsible assisting in the maintenance and commissioning of equipment located at customer sites. Function in an On Call capacity for customers requesting support. Provide phone service reply to e-mail for service questions by performing the following duties.

  • Runs Series II and C-Scape and needed software properly.

  • Read and analyze prints/drawings.

  • Uses AX Dynamics to look up parts and inventory logs etc.

The Field Service Engineer's (FSE) primary role is to perform services on customer

The Field Service Engineer's (FSE) primary role is to perform services on customer sites: preventive & corrective maintenance, commissioning, installation supervision & modification of Gutor UPS systems and batteries. The FSE works on both, on- and off-shore sites, and is in direct contact with the customer. The FSE is the connection between the customer and Gutor's Customer Service department.

If hired, must be able to travel to Malaysia or Switzerland for a mandatory 6 week training.

Main responsibilities:

• Performing installation supervision and commissioning of Gutor systems including the batteries.

• Performing preventive and corrective maintenance for Gutor UPS equipment including batteries.

• Solving UPS problems at customers' sites and providing reports on these issues.

• Responsible for identifying and reporting failure modes encountered in the field, as well as for determining the cause of these failures.

• Training customers on equipment operation and maintenance of Gutor systems.

• Interacting with customers by phone or face-to-face.

• Representing Gutor in dealing with customer concerns.

• Promoting proactively Gutor services & products, including contracts, spare parts, preventive maintenance, modifications, digital services, etc.

• Keeping databases updated with completed reports & documents.

• Complete work in a safe manner, in charge for the safety onsite, making sure that nobody & no properties are endangered.

• Help generate the regional business by discovering leads and opportunities for Gutor customers.

Secondary duties:

• Help out in the technical support, if necessary.

• Support other teams with expertise on demand, and with pro-active feedback (i.e. sales, test bay, R&D).

• Provide help to secure / improve quality by means of IQ soft entries and othertools.

• 24 hours stand-by on demand.

• Self-Training on existing and new products of the Gutor Portfolio.

• Evaluation of Warranty / Goodwill claims.

Required qualifications:

• Electrical technician with at least 3 years of experience in field services (UPS) or similar experience.

• BS degree of electrical engineering, electronic engineering or equivalent.

• Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting, Level 1 Support (ideal: level 2Support) Remote support for troubleshooting experience in handling

international customers with high expectations.

• 3 - 5 years of related experience

• Strong knowledge of electronic theory to component level / electro-technical education.

• PC knowledge including profound knowledge of typical office applications and networking.

• Good written & verbal communication skills. Ability to have technical conversations with the customer.

• Ability to analyze complex problems.

• Good self-expression, negotiation skills and ability to explain things in a comprehensive and intelligible way

• Cross-cultural knowledge & ability to adapt.

• Passport, Drivers license and TWIC Card.

Preferred qualifications:

• Good written & verbal communication skills in Spanish and Portuguese . Ability to have technical conversations with the customer in Spanish and Portuguese.
