We are looking for a technical assistant to work within the context of the communities we serve, where we provide planning, engineering, and infrastructure management services that fit the needs of our clients and improve the overall transportation experience. **Your Key Responsibilities**
+ Review drawings to prepare for the inspection.
+ Responsible to inspect and document construction activities on major transportation projects.
+ Conduct field measurements to establish quantities for pay item documentation.
+ Inspect work site for proper traffic control setup.
+ Inspect erosion control devices, ensure they are maintained and that they are in compliance with applicable permits.
+ Monitor and record materials certifications in accordance with the client's procedures.
**Education and Experience**
+ High School diploma or relevant experience can be used in place of diploma. Minimum of one (1) year construction inspection experience on major roadway and/or bridge inspection projects is preferred. Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and/or Pennsylvania Turnpike experience preferred. Willing to completed PennDOT (12) web-based TCI training modules preferred.

The Role Itself:

**Description**
* Develop knowledge and stay up to date on Apple products, services, and Genius Bar repair processes to support efficient and high-quality repairs.
* Support customers having Apple product or software issues with care and empathy, using all tools and resources provided by Apple.
* Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve service concerns for select Apple hardware and software.
* Work with team leaders to identify recurring repair problems and other service concerns, and make sure that feedback is provided to Apple.
* Provide excellent service to Apple customers by seeking to understand their needs, identifying ownership opportunities, presenting product and service recommendations, and educating customers on relevant ways to buy.
* Perform other tasks as needed, including but not limited to supporting customer-facing activities on or off the sales floor.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee and be responsible for the latest in working on the latest video and skill games, kitchen equipment, register systems and coin and ticket mechanisms
  • Oversee and be responsible for the latest arcade games, register and IT systems and ticket dispensers
  • Manage the electrical and mechanical aspects of the game room; perform daily preventative maintenance and repairs
  • Troubleshoot, repair and/or replace defective electronic components, boards and computers
  • Operate stage show equipment and manage repairs and preventative maintenance, including compressor operation, lighting and sound, pneumatics, mac valves, cylinders, boards and stage show cosmetics
  • Maintain an inventory of electronic equipment, mechanical parts and tools
  • Maintain a budget
  • Maintain a safety-focused attitude at all times
Skills We're Looking For:
  • Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot down to the component board level
  • Planning, organization and multi-tasking skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Time management and a sense of urgency
  • Military experience, a technical degree, or previous electrical or mechanical training, preferred
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to work up to 45 hours per week
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience

  • Must be able to lift or carry objects weighing 0-50 pounds during scheduled shift.

Duties and responsibilities

•Plan, develop and provide employee technical training programs, using methods such as in-person and virtual classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops.

•Design and implement training programs for Meier customers in all locations.

•Present information, using a variety of techniques such as simulations, team exercises, group discussions and role playing.

•Coordinate speakers/topics for "Meier University".

•Monitor, evaluate, and record training activities for effectiveness.

•Sustain existing courses with upgrades in content, delivery methods, etc.

•Provide technical support to sales staff and customers via phone and e-mail.

•Assist customers with job sites for troubleshooting.

•Promote positive and productive relationships with branch managers and sales employees throughout the company along with division managers.

•Keep abreast of the latest trends in technical training methods, topics, marketing efforts, etc. to optimize the company's technical training programs.

•Maintain instructional equipment and labs in accordance with the respective manufacturer operating instructions.

•Work with LMS administration to load appropriate training into the LMS for our employees.

Requirements

Qualifications and Required Competencies

The territory this person will be responsible for covering is Western, PA. Our intent is to have this person be the lead instructor at the Delmont MATC, and Mitsubishi DSG that covers Pittsburgh, Altoona, Erie, and assists with Buffalo.
  • Must have HVAC knowledge and experience
  • Minimum of a 2-year technical degree - 4 yr. degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years providing technical training.
  • Extensive working knowledge in designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating training plans, curricula, and methodology.
  • Diverse verbal and written communication styles and the knowledge of which style to use with the audience at hand.
  • Strong consulting capability with strong interpersonal, presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching and mentoring others.
  • Capacity to comprehend and deploy task-based exercises around highly technical content.
  • Mature understanding of mechanical, electrical, and other building systems
  • Proficient in productivity tools for PC's
  • Project management and presentation skills and the ability to resolve complex problems and issues.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a complex environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% within the assigned region.


Working conditions

This position is performed mostly at our company training locations (branches and corporate distribution center). Some work is conducted on jobsites providing technical assistance as needed and can be indoors or outdoors.

Physical requirements

Moderate physical activity. May require physical effort including lifting to 50 pounds and some extended periods of standing or walking and bending. When instructing live training sessions, extended periods of time are spent at the front of the classroom presenting from a lectern/computer, walking around, configuring physical space and seating for participants. Virtual training requires extensive time utilizing a computer station and web-based meeting software to conduct training sessions.
