Provide limited after-hours or on-call support during emergencies or critical system incidents. Required Qualifications Education & Experience : Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant IT experience. OR, 5+ years of IT system administration experience in lieu of a degree. Technical Skills : 3+ years of hands-on experience administering Windows Server operating systems. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Visual Studio. Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as C++ or PowerShell for application support. Understanding of control systems, data systems design, high-availability architectures, and configuration management practices. Experience following structured project management and system deployment practices. Preferred Experience Background working with operational technology systems in energy, utilities, or industrial control center environments. Familiarity with grid simulation software and energy management systems (EMS). This System Administrator position is located in the Desktop Delivery (JNRD) organization of End User Services (JNR), Information Technology (J) at Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). The purpose of this position is to provide system administration of Microsoft Intune cloud service to provision, support, and control BPA smartphone devices.

Organization
The Desktop Operations team is responsible for the architecture, engineering, and configuration management of the client computing environment. In addition to tier 3 troubleshooting and support, the scope of services for Desktop Operations includes hardware and software maintenance, device encryption management, endpoint protection, vulnerability response, patch management, and desktop software application packaging, testing, and deployment.

Kentro is hiring an experienced Customer Service Engineer (System Administrator) to support our VA-ESOM- End Point Support and Operations Monitoring contract across the United States. The VA is responsible for providing comprehensive onsite and remote support to IT customers across all VA Administrations and special program offices, including direct support of over 340,000 VA employees and thousands of contractors who use government-furnished IT equipment and infrastructure. The VA provides support staff across 100+ CONUS and OCONUS locations, including difficult-to-accommodate locales, such as high cost of living or under-supported economic areas, where VA offices or facilities may be located and require onsite services.
A Customer Service Engineer can quickly respond to end-user requests for assistance when existing manuals and scripted responses are insufficient to meet user needs. Must be able to interact with customers, diagnose problems, and lead them through the necessary steps to correct their issues. Must have experience conducting routine system administration tasks and logging data in system admin logs.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Government with the installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of computer systems and equipment, ensuring optimal operation and user satisfaction.
- Assist in delivering both remote and desk-side technical support, responding to IT support tickets, and performing diagnostic and repair activities on both hardware and software components.
- Aid in setting up and maintaining user accounts, interfacing with other software applications, compiling reports, and responding to customer requests.
- Assist in the maintenance of Active Directory and other system accounts, support connectivity and client applications, and assist in the configuration and support of local and wide area network services.
- Monitor open tickets in VA's ServiceNow customer incident ticketing system to ensure adherence to business processes, and any discrepancies identified shall be reported with proposed corrective actions for approval before implementation.
- The work environment involves both sedentary and active elements, requiring careful handling of electronic components and adherence to safety precautions to prevent injuries or equipment damage.
- Utilize debugging protocols and processes.
- Troubleshoot problems and issues identified by customers and implement corrective actions quickly.
- Facilitate equipment returns, deployments, unboxing, inventorying, and verification.
- Possessing the physical capability to handle demanding tasks such as lifting equipment up to 50 pounds and bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, climbing, and crawling to navigate through facility spaces to access and repair equipment.
- Stand and move throughout the work area for prolonged periods.
Travel:
- A Customer Service Engineer may be asked to provide additional support during temporary periods of increased workload, referred to as "surge capacity." These requests would be discussed and coordinated beforehand and could require travel of up to two (2) weeks.
- Overtime is not authorized for any work to include this surge capacity.
- For work related travel, employees will pay for expense out-of-pocket and submit an expense report in accordance with Kentro policy. Expense reimbursements are paid out weekly. Per diem for meals and lodging will be provided for overnight stays based on the GSA Per Diem Rates for that location.
This Kentro position provides on-site support for the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). The VHA has facility-specific vaccination and testing requirements (outlined below). If chosen for this role, candidates may be required to show proof that the below vaccinations and testing are current. The VHA will provide guidance on specific documents needed and how to request reasonable accommodations.
- Vaccine requirements may include COVID-19, Influenza, Measles Mumps & Rubella (MMR), Hepatitis B, and/or Varicella.
- Testing requirements may include Tuberculosis.
- Candidates must be able and willing to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Per Federal requirements, only US Citizens and Green Card holders can be considered.

KeyScope and Areas of Impact: For Senior Technology Auditor Leads planning and fieldwork for assurance and advisory engagements, developing test procedures, gathering, and analyzing data, processes, presentations, metrics, and other documentation, performing complex research,documenting workpapers and analysis, and coordinating and reviewing the work of others to meet engagement quality and timelines. Drafts objective, clear, and concise reports over engagement results, recommending risk mitigation and/or process improvements. For Technology Auditor Supports assurance and advisory engagements by performing prescribed assignments, including developing process/data flows, control assessment, interview and workpaper documentation, and data review and analysis. Performs testing according to fieldwork procedures, including completing workpaper documentation efficiently and effectively, identifying exceptions, and communicating results to the engagement team. For Both Levels Provides timely client communication on engagement status, risk mitigation, and conclusions, including difficult and complex outcomes when necessary. Designs effective and efficient control test procedures and performs control testing to enable management to assess the operating effectiveness of key controls. Monitors their own progress using project management skills to ensure work is completed timely. Proactively engages with management on tracking and validating client mitigations and other activities to resolve previously identified engagement risk results. Performs a variety of individual and department administrative tasks and participates in internal process improvement initiatives. Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) IT general controls, including control walkthroughs, testing, and validations is preferred. Experience with technology risk frameworks such as NIST, ISO, or CobIT is preferred. Knowledge and understanding of the Institute of Internal Auditors' Global Internal Audit Standards for planning, performing, and reporting on assurance and advisory engagements is preferred. What you will bring to this role: For both the Technology Auditor and Senior Technology Auditor roles, a Bachelor's degree in finance, computer science, liberal arts or other related field or equivalent experience is required. For a Senior Technology Auditor, five or more years in business, internal auditing, technology, public accounting, or related functions.For a Technology Auditor, at least two years similar experience. Professional licenses/certifications preferred and may be required within one year of obtaining position (CISA, CISSP). Other audit certifications a plus (CPA, CIA, CRMA, CFE,etc.). Experience conducting technology control and process engagements from planning to fieldwork through reporting - along with a basic understanding and application of project management techniques. Skilled at interacting with a variety of technical and non-technical functional areas and clients and negotiating and resolving differences around simple to complex and sometimes challenging risks. A willingness to learn about PGE functional areas that may be unfamiliar, research and understand emerging technologies and regulatory topics, and apply the learnings. Proficient use of Microsoft applications. Data analysis tool knowledge is a plus.
