This position is part of a team that is responsible for the evaluation, administration, maintenance, and expansion of the City's mission-critical network infrastructure, including, but not limited to: LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, Unified Communications, Network Security, Virtual Infrastructure and Backup and Disaster Recovery systems.
Major Duties
Provides initial support for desktop computers, laptops, printers, projectors, library automation technology, phones, and phone network servers, and other technology; troubleshoots and repairs software and hardware problems. Part of a two-person helpdesk team.
Installs and supports new technology equipment; maintains equipment inventory in a digital IT asset management solution.
Generates reports and statistics for presentation to staff and supervisors.
Maintains knowledge of networks; assists with network monitoring and troubleshooting; installs and maintains network operating systems on network servers.
Assists with evaluating and obtaining quotes for technology equipment and software; makes recommendations.
Assists in training coworkers in the utilization of software and hardware resources.
Interacts with users to determine technology solutions to problems and improve efficiency.
Performs related duties as assigned by the IT Director.
Knowledge and Qualifications
Entry-level knowledge of server and workstation hardware and troubleshooting abilities.
Entry-level knowledge of switch, hub, and cabling design, configuration, and maintenance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings - carrier network and enterprise network. **Scope of Position:**
- Lead the Program Management capability of OCS Technology.
- Acting though a team of Program Managers, lead major technological innovations within OCS.
- May lead an innovations program directly.
- In OCS Technology, programs are distinguished from projects. Programs are more complex, with high risk, high ambiguity, and are larger than projects. Programs typically consist of several projects.
**Responsibilities:**
- Directly manage the team of Program Managers that lead major technological innovations within OCS. Responsible for hiring, training, performance management, and other supervision tasks for Program Managers.
- Drive the successful and timely delivery of OCS Innovation Programs to budget and performance expectations.
- Work in coordination with COC Leaders in Technology, Business Teams, PMO, Product Line Management, Division Engineering and Manufacturing to provide program specific direction and guidance to Program Managers.
- Lead program managers and sponsors to build and maintain global program structures which ensure the success of innovation programs. This will typically include establishing an effective core team and steering team for each program.
- Through program managers, ensure development of comprehensive program/project plans. Establish objectives and monitor adherence to the master plans and schedules. Secure and maintain adequate resources to enable the success of programs and projects.
- Work with innovation management leaders and other functions define and implement appropriate innovation management processes to optimize program performance, limit risk, drive good decisions and maximize utilization of resources.

**Background Check and Drug Testing Information:**
CDM Smith Inc. and its divisions and subsidiaries (hereafter collectively referred to as "CDM Smith") reserves the right to require background checks including criminal, employment, education, licensure, etc. as well as credit and motor vehicle when applicable for certain positions. In addition, CDM Smith may conduct drug testing for designated positions. Background checks are conducted after an offer of employment has been made in the United States. The timing of when background checks will be conducted on candidates for positions outside the United States will vary based on country statutory law but in no case, will the background check precede an interview. CDM Smith will conduct interviews of qualified individuals prior to requesting a criminal background check, and no job application submitted prior to such interview shall inquire into an applicant's criminal history. If this position is subject to a background check for any convictions related to its responsibilities and requirements, employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation including criminal history. Criminal history will not automatically disqualify a candidate. In addition, during employment individuals may be required by CDM Smith or a CDM Smith client to successfully complete additional background checks, including motor vehicle record as well as drug testing.
**Pay Range Minimum:**
$81,765
**Pay Range Maximum:**
$134,909
**Additional Compensation:**
All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
**Work Location Options:**
Hybrid Work Options may be considered for successful candidate.
**Driver's License Requirements:**
An appropriate and valid driver's license is required.
