This position is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of training programs aimed at enhancing knowledge, skills, and performance of employees. This position works closely with subject matter experts to ensure that employees are equipped with the necessary knowledge and expertise to succeed. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: In collaboration with subject matter experts, design, develop, and implement training materials for new hires and ongoing employee development. Create and maintain learning modules, courses, and resources tailored to contract management processes. Coordinate training logistics, including scheduling sessions. Deliver training sessions both in-person and in virtual formats, ensuring an engaging, interactive, and informative learning experience. Provide support to trainees as needed. Assess the effectiveness of training programs. Analyze training results and propose adjustments to improve effectiveness. Maintain records of completed training sessions, certifications, and performance metrics. Leverage the company’s learning management system to deliver training electronically where appropriate. Other duties as assigned. WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field. Proficiency in multiple learning modalities: in-person, virtual, e-learning, etc. Skilled in using learning technologies and authoring tools. Familiarity with applying AI in training and video editing are preferred. 5+ years of experience in learning & development role with a focus on training design, development, project management, and delivery. Strong design and development expertise, with a portfolio of impactful learning programs. Preference given to candidates with experience developing training for contract compliance, contract optimization, contract management, profit recovery, audit, or similar organizations. Preference given to candidates who are fluent in Spanish and English. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to think creatively. Salary Range $48,381-$77,894   FLSA Non Exempt

The purpose of this classification is to create, implement & evaluate training programs & curricula focusing on specific areas of knowledge to support departmental programs or systems and to assist employees improve upon or enhance existing skills.

Essential Functions:

Identifies and assesses business needs to determine and address immediate and future training needs and target audiences including current employees and new hires.

Confers with management, supervisors and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies.

Formulates teaching curricula/outlines and determines instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops.

Researches, designs, develops and refines curricula and training materials for courses.

Selects or develops teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference workshops.

Conducts training sessions for specified areas e.g., customer service, billing systems, hardware and software, interpersonal skills, quality & process issues, and product knowledge.

Presents standard and customized training courses.

Monitors and tests employees to measure progress and evaluate training effectiveness.

Reports on progress of employees during training period; counsels employees on progress and improvements required; and maintain trainee records.

Evaluates, updates and ensures training programs and content meet evolving business needs, regulatory requirement changes and new technologies.

Conduct cost-benefit analysis and calculate training ROI.

Establishes and tracks training attendance through records management.

Minimum Qualification:

Bachelors degree in Public/Business Administration, Education or equivalent experience and certification; two years of training/teaching experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Specific License or Certification Required:   Technical Training Certification or CPLP a plus. 

Supplemental Police Department Specific Information :

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, clinical counseling, occupational therapy, or related field. Teaching or group presentation experience preferred but not required. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
• Must be able to obtain a Georgia POST General Instructor certification within 6 months of employment. 

Major Duties and responsibilities

• Instruct and routinely update behavioral health curriculum specific to law enforcement in the form of a 40-hour training class and deliver that training in a competent and engaging manner. 
• Instruct and routinely update an 8-hour refresher class detailing and reinforcing best practices regarding police response to behavioral health crises. 
• Maintain a database of department employees who have obtained specific training related to behavioral health crises. 
• Teach additional Georgia POST credit classes appropriate for civilian instruction. 
• Perform other duties related to the function of the DeKalb Police Training Academy as directed by the Academy Director or designee. 

Skill/Knowledge Preferred

• Must be able to function in a paramilitary environment with a defined command structure. 
• Must have an aptitude for public speaking. 
• Good communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to speak professionally to staff. members, groups, and community residents.

Under general supervision, the ITS Trainer will work with end users and other personnel to coordinate testing and training for trainers on design and development of system initiatives, in support of our efforts to continually upgrade the skills and capabilities of end users and the Department of Revenue (DOR).

Must be able to train on software applications or large-scale systems while also identifying areas of risk or for improvement on business processes. The incumbent must be able to build relationships with business resources across all divisions within the Dept. Must be able to facilitate meetings and work as a liaison between the business users and IT personnel on system changes. The incumbent must also be able to produce training or instructional videos and other training documents on system changes and upgrades.

Specific duties include (but are not limited to):

Facilitate meetings

Administers training for end users and other trainers

Consults with vendors or technical staff to validate functionality and workflow for preparation of instructional or training documentation for communications to end users

Identify training needs based on new system functionalities and/or changes in workflow or business processes

Produce instructional or training videos and documents for use in support of training

Provides services such as scheduling of training, maintaining records, setting up/checking equipment

Develop change management plans for transition to new or upgraded systems

Entry Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED AND 3 years of experience providing educational, training or instructional services in functional area. (IT/IS, End User Support etc.)
