Amazon's US Consumables team is seeking an experienced supply chain professional to lead a team of supply chain managers within the Household Goods category. Our mission is to serve and delight customers by having the right product quantities, in the right place, at the right time. The supply chain team focuses on end-to-end supply chain management for the category, including managing operations relationships with Vendors, ensuring inventory health, and collaborating with Vendors and internal stakeholders on strategic initiatives to improve supply chain efficiency, to provide products to customers with best-in-class speed, and to reduce costs and waste.
A successful candidate will be a strong communicator across teams and Vendors, with executive leadership, and with their direct reports. They will be able to balance the day-to-day requirements of the role while also driving improvements to key metrics such as in-stock rates, confirmation rates, and lead times. They will develop effective and collaborative relationships with external Vendors and internal partner teams while simultaneously holding a high bar for supply chain performance in order to deliver the best experience for Amazon customers. Flexibility and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be crucial. The individual in this role will look to continuously elevate their team members' performance and foster a strong and supportive team environment.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead a team of supply chain managers focused on Vendor relationships and category-wide initiatives
- Plan and execute inventory strategies to optimize sales, in-stock rates, turns, and inventory health for owned category
- Set goals for supply chain KPIs and monitor/report on progress; for example, in-stock rate, lead time, confirmation rate, fill rate, and ship costs
- Participate in business reviews with your Vendors; identify operational improvement areas and recommend and oversee efforts to improve supply chain efficiency
- Communicate category supply chain strategy and KPI results to retail leadership
- Drive root cause analysis/reporting on operational issues, develop action plans, and project manage improvements with the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
- Work with internal teams to drive process improvements that affect purchasing and procurement workflows
- Consistently raise the bar on team effectiveness by leading trainings, coaching team members, and setting team goals and expectations
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 6+ years experience in retail supply chain, vendor management, strategy consulting, or related fields
- Strong proficiency in data and analysis tools including Microsoft Excel and SQL
- Experience successfully coaching and developing others
- Demonstrated ability to set a strategy and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment - prioritization, planning and task delegation
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, or advanced degrees in Operations Management or related field

JOB SUMMARY:

The Site Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading and executing the material planning, supply planning, scheduling, and execution activities within a specific site or facility. This role ensures efficient and effective supply chain operations, contributing to overall business objectives and customer satisfaction while optimizing costs and resources at the site level.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business or a related field.
  • 5+ years experience in supply chain management, with proven leadership experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and develop site-level plans and forecast models.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop high performing teams.
  • Proficiency in supply chain systems, tools, technologies, including MRP and advanced analytics platforms. Oracle experience is a plus.
  • Innovative mindset and ability to drive continuous improvement and adoption of new technologies and methodologies at the site level.
  • Must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage and oversee the material planning, supply planning, scheduling, and execution processes at the site level, utilizing advanced analytical techniques, tools, and systems.
  • Monitor and report on key supply chain performance metrics for the site, such as inventory levels, lead times, on time deliveries, and production efficiency.
  • Oversee and manage site level supply chain projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives, effective resource allocation and timely execution.
  • Drive improvement for the planning and purchasing teams in the areas of material productivity, cost reduction, inventory reduction, customer service performance, supplier performance, inventory accuracy, lead time, etc.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and partners to ensure reliable services for the site.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies to address supply disruptions at the site, ensuring business continuity and resilience.
  • Hire, manage, develop and mentor operational team members.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing supply chain team at the site, fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, and a performance driven mindset.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, customer service, quality, and logistics.
  • Manage and oversee the transportation of commodities via rail, ensuring efficient and timely delivery.
  • Support all general safety, food safety and pharmaceutical requirements.
PHYISICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Primarily office-based work with occasional visits to manufacturing areas (PPE required).
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods.
  • Occasional walking, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
  • Use of hands and arms to reach for and handle objects.


Starting Salary: $100,000

In this role you will lead and build the team that liaises between engineering, production, finance, and vendors to ensure that we are able to deliver our mission critical products on-time and in compliance with our rigorous quality standards. Key ResponsibilitiesOwn on-time deliveries from suppliers and contract manufacturers. Drive vendor relationships in a whatever-it-takes fashion to ensure our hardware can be built quickly and iterated upon at scale. Own the relationships between contract manufacturers and component vendors. Build and maintain strategic partnerships to ensure consistent performance and value.Ensure all suppliers meet required quality standards, including IPC, J-STD, AS9100/ISO certifications, and traceability requirements.
