Job Summary: The Transportation Analyst analyzes and develops transportation plans to control the movement of commodities throughout a manufacturing or distribution network to ensure the smooth running of operations at optimal transportation cost levels.
Additional Info:
- Location: This role is primarily based out of the East Peoria, IL office, but will also operate out of the Morton, IL office.
- This position requires the candidate to work a 5 day-a-week schedule in the East Peoria/Morton IL office.

- This role will have frequent on-call responsibilities to support the transportation needs within the facility
What You Will Do:
- Analyze transportation plans and identify opportunities for improvements to meet client needs.
- Implement and maintain monitoring systems to provide information on shipment status, shipped date, in transit location, estimated arrival date, and actual delivery date.
- Generate and analyze reports of transportation costs, carrier performance and lead times.
- Assist in the development of process flows to track lead time by activity and provide solutions to reduce lead times.
What You Have (Required Skills):
- Process Management: Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes.
- Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. Experience working with PowerBI and Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
- Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
- Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

Deploy process improvement initiatives and improved transportation methods supporting Cat's quality, velocity and cost objectives resulting in OPACC being realized by Cat Parts Facilities.

Accountable for setting and meeting financial goals for the Cat Parts Transportation networks global freight reduction OPACC needs and project portfolio.

Provides analytical insights and reporting to leadership, internal customers generating fact driven solutions and performance metric reporting and ability to create an actionable Power BI dashboard(s).

Responsible for management, performance and visibility of shipments for Aftermarket Parts 4 main/major North American carriers across the parts network of ~$70M annual spend impacting 14 facilities.

Coordinate problem resolution with Caterpillar facilities and approved Service Providers with regards to transportation services.

Coordinates impact analysis and implementation of cost-effective solutions with Providers and Facilities.

Develops processes and ensures adherence to transportation global standards and business rules.

Governing the carrier and network performance through Key Performance Indicators to meet cost and service performance expectations (Supply Chain Velocity - SCV, On Time Pickup, On Time Delivery, DC to Dealer Shipments, Trailer Utilization, Facility Trailer Pools, etc.).
