Job Description

Wilson & Company's Kansas City, Missouri office is seeking a Roadway PE with experience in the design of transportation infrastructure, notably streets, highways, and interstates. This position will perform roadway design and modeling utilizing Microstation /OpenRoads. We work on projects of various sizes allowing more opportunity to lead and manage tasks. A background in traffic engineering design is also valuable as our team develops designs for signing and striping, traffic signals and construction traffic control, providing full-service roadway design to our clients.

In this position you will work with experienced designers and project managers as well as collaborating with other disciplines and subconsultants to deliver projects primarily in Missouri and Kansas but with opportunities to support regional projects as the opportunities arise.

Required Skills

  • Strong work ethic and an understanding of engineering principles.
  • Experience in CADD utilizing Microstation.
  • Proven teamwork and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite products including Word and Excel.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate thoughts and ideas to peers, senior staff, and clients.
Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • Kansas Professional Engineer licensed or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • 4-7 years' experience in the design of streets and highways in accordance with local, state and/or federal regulations.
  • Ability to effectively work with other engineers and technicians.


Annual Salary range: $80,000 - $115,000

**JOB SUMMARY**
This is an Operations position responsible for supervising the activities associated with Delivery. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, management and direction to delivery staff, compliance with government regulations and safety and security of the delivery department.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Supervises the daily work and safety of Delivery Associates, including adherence to standard operating procedures, adherence to planned routes, and providing safe and efficient customer service.
+ Ensures Delivery Associate compliance with local, state and federal regulatory agencies (i.e. DOT, OSHA, etc.) and ensures that electronic logs are kept current and accurate.
+ Manages labor hours and consumable supplies within budget.
+ Prepares work schedules including extra work days and shifts as needed.

+ Organizes required repairs with proper departments as necessary.
+ Reviews delivery functions and productivity reporting.

Overview

The Supply Chain Business Analyst supports Supply Chain through the use of the Children Mercy's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system as well as other related technologies and systems. The Supply Chain Technician is responsible for receiving, keying, and promptly distributing all supplies within the facility, as well as reviewing and maintaining all Min/Max levels for storeroom safety stock as well as all other stocking locations. The Supply Chain Technician is also responsible for conducting physical inventories of all POU areas according to the defined schedule.
What you will do in this role:
+ Deliver supplies in an accurate and timely manner
+ Is authorized to transport and deliver legend drugs, non-prescription drugs, contrast media and drug-containing devices relative to core competencies of the position
+ Place safety stock in proper location
+ Receive expedited deliveries, accurately key receiving into the SMART system, and deliver to appropriate department(s)
+ Receive all cross-docked items into the SMART system as appropriate
+ Review Min/Max for storeroom safety stock daily and place orders appropriately
+ Count par level areas (POU areas) weekly according to schedule
+ Ensure POU items have the appropriate barcodes
+ Perform QA random checks on totes per approved policy
+ Rotate stock in POU areas and backup storeroom areas to ensure no items are out of date
+ Check after-hour logs for charges and determine how to avoid reoccurrence
+ React appropriately to POU "critical point" messages and stock outs
+ Process all "returns to vendor" or "returns to backup stock" appropriately
+ Provide assistance to the POU Station personnel as well as provide assistance with problems, questions and concerns at the nurse's stations

Wilson & Company is seeking an experienced Transportation Project Manager with a background in Transportation/Roadway Design to join our Missouri practice. You will work closely with clients, other project managers and support staff to ensure the successful completion of projects. The ability to effectively coordinate staff efforts to ensure timely and cost-effective solutions to project requirements is a must. Job duties will include:

  • Plan and manage all aspects of multi-discipline engineering projects
  • Independently coordinate work of engineers and plan team assignments throughout project development

Oversee and develop drivers and Transportation associates by discussing performance with Sr. Transportation Managers and creating plans to address gaps.
Create an atmosphere in which upward communication is encouraged, and motivate associates to achieve department goals and objectives.
Direct and supervise the work and productivity of drivers and clerical associates within the Transportation department. Drive associate engagement and retention, and create a culture that embodies US Foods values.
Build high-performing teams by participating in interviewing and hiring Transportation personnel, in conjunction with Sr. Transportation Managers. Review performance, coach on service and safety targets, and deliver disciplinary action.
Monitor production goals and maintain a zero-error attitude to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction. Anticipate, analyze and troubleshoot problems with deliveries and devise cost-effective and legal solutions; act to implement same. Ensure team understands and adheres to DOT regulations.
Identify and stop waste, and improve processes to complete work more safely and efficiently.
Conduct routine Safety and Driver Meetings.
Oversee maintenance of driver qualification files.
Investigate all accidents, maintain an accident file, track causes and take appropriate preventative action.

Effectively schedule working shifts by leveraging appropriate planning tools (i.e., Microsoft Excel)
Other duties assigned by manager.

RELATIONSHIPS
Internal: Transportation leaders and coworkers; Drivers; Warehouse leaders; Internal customers across departments (e.g., Sales)

WORK ENVIRONMENT
May spend significant amount of time on the road. Must spend portion of working time in a truck with drivers, exposed to noise and vibration levels which may be higher than those typically experienced in passenger cars. Will spend time in an office working on a computer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Related Experience/Requirements:
Minimum of three years of experience in transportation/delivery or warehouse distribution required.
Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce required.
Experience as a driver a plus.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Broad knowledge of transportation/delivery operations, methods and procedures.
Strong leadership, communication and people development skills.
Strong understanding of DOT requirements. Familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements.
Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
Basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office).
