ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Midlevel Associate in our Emerging Companies & Venture Capital (ECVC) practice, you will work alongside a team of highly experienced practitioners on sophisticated transactions at a national level. This role offers the opportunity to advise innovative startups, venture capital funds, and high-growth companies on complex legal matters, gaining exposure to the fast-paced tech and startup ecosystem. You will play a key role in helping clients navigate the legal and strategic challenges of business formation, fundraising, growth, and M&A.



DUTIES:
  • Advise emerging companies and venture capital funds on business formation, financings, mergers & acquisitions, and corporate governance.
  • Provide strategic counsel on startup structuring, investment transactions, and strategic acquisitions in the tech and venture capital space.
  • Manage client relationships and collaborate with external counsel, delivering practical, business-driven legal solutions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents for venture capital deals, private equity financings, and corporate transactions.


REQUIREMENTS:
  • At least three years of experience in corporate law, preferably in emerging companies or venture capital at a comparable law firm.
  • Stellar academic credentials and strong references.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to effectively interact with clients and counsel.
  • Proficiency in quantitative analysis, Excel, and a keen understanding of business and financial strategies.
  • Client management experience and the ability to work independently while being part of a team.
  • Active license to practice law in CA

We're seeking an experienced investment professional to join our Venture Capital team as a Portfolio Manager. This high-impact role will focus on identifying, underwriting, and monitoring venture capital and growth equity fund commitments, with selective investment in direct opportunities alongside managers. + Assist with investor relations, including the preparation of fundraising materials and responses to due diligence requests.
+ Monitor overall fund performance and expenses, ensure data accuracy, and contribute to the improvement of internal processes and controls.
Requirements
- At least of 7+ years of combined public accounting and VC/PE experience and a personality type of taking initiative and having ownership of your work.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting. CPA is preferred but not required.
- Advanced Excel skills, including experience with pivot tables, macros, and data visualization tools.
- Experience with SQL or other database query languages is a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.

Robert Half Financial Services are hiring for a Fund Accountant role for a growing Digital Assets Venture Capital firm located in Union Square Manhattan New York. Our client requires 3+ years Fund Accounting experience within asset management, Big 4/Public Accounting or a Fund Administrator. CPA license (or at least FAR and REG parts passed) is required, with knowledge of Fund Accounting, Capital Calls/Distributions, Investor Reporting, and Financial Statements. The role requires 2-3 days per week in the Union Square Manhattan office.
Responsibilities:
+ Conduct detailed reviews of quarterly reports prepared by the fund administrator for both open-ended and closed-ended funds.
+ Reconcile digital asset transactions against the blockchain on an ongoing basis.
+ Review and distribute quarterly capital statements to investors.
+ Act as a primary contact for managing fund administrator relationships.
+ Work on fund operations processes including capital calls, distributions, redemptions, investment funding, expense payment and cash receipts.
+ Monitor fund finances and investments, tracking investment information and valuation updates within our proprietary portfolio database.
+ Monitor expenses and suggest expense saving initiatives.
+ Review annual financial statements prepared by the fund administrator.
+ Work with auditors to ensure timely issuance of audited financial statements.
+ Manage audit requests including confirmations, valuation memos, transaction and expense supports.
+ Assist in addressing finance related inquiries from investors.
+ Participate in the SPV finance processes, including capital call, reporting, tax and audit.
+ Assist with fund tax compliance processes including review or K-1 and tax returns.
+ Assist with ad-hoc analysis and strategic projects.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ 3+ years Fund Accounting experience within asset management, Big 4/Public Accounting or a Fund Administrator
+ CPA license (or at least FAR and REG parts passed) is required
+ Knowledge of Fund Accounting, Capital Calls/Distributions, Investor Reporting, and Financial Statements
+ Knowledge of Venture Capital Funds and Cryptocurrency/Digital Assets is advantageous
+ Strong Excel skills.
+ Bachelor or Master Degree in Accounting.

**Managing Director, Corporate Venture Capital**
As a key leader within Western Digital's Corporate Development & Strategic Planning organization, the **Managing Director of Corporate Venture Capital** will shape and execute the company's venture strategy in alignment with its long-term innovation roadmap. This high-impact role serves as a strategic interface between external innovation and internal priorities, driving investments that accelerate growth and technological leadership in core and adjacent markets.
This role requires deep venture capital expertise, fluency in technology trends-particularly in compute, storage, infrastructure, and networking-and the ability to translate innovation into business value. The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end investment processes, including detailed financial modeling and deal structuring, while also cultivating strong ties with the global startup ecosystem and key internal stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Strategic Leadership**
+ Lead the execution of Western Digital's corporate venture strategy, aligned with enterprise innovation goals and long-term business priorities.
+ Collaborate with Corporate Development, Strategic Planning, and Technology teams to define thematic focus areas and develop targeted investment theses.
+ Track and analyze emerging trends across compute, storage, infrastructure, and networking to guide investment decisions.
**Venture Investment & Execution**
+ Source and assess high-potential startups in strategic domains through deep engagement with founders, VCs, and internal experts.
+ Lead investment diligence, including product/tech validation, competitive analysis, market sizing, and financial modeling.
+ Build detailed venture deal models including cap table analysis, dilution scenarios, exit outcomes, and scenario planning.
+ Lead and orchestrate a complete deal round for select targets
+ Drive deal execution-term sheet development, negotiation, and close-in collaboration with legal, finance, and tax teams.
+ Identify and support proof-of-concept pilots, go-to-market opportunities, and technology integrations with portfolio companies.
**Portfolio Strategy & Management**
+ Manage a portfolio of strategic investments, monitoring performance and facilitating strategic engagement between portfolio companies and business units.
+ Evaluate and report on financial and strategic outcomes, portfolio impact, and alignment with corporate priorities.
+ Provide board-level guidance or observer oversight to ensure portfolio companies are well-positioned for growth.
**Ecosystem & Stakeholder Engagement**
+ Maintain strong relationships with leading venture capital firms, accelerators, entrepreneurs, and corporate innovation networks.
+ Represent Western Digital at industry conferences, venture summits, and ecosystem forums to identify opportunities and enhance visibility.
+ Serve as a trusted advisor and internal evangelist for venture-driven innovation across R&D, product, and go-to-market teams.
**Organizational Leadership**
+ Champion a culture of innovation, investment excellence, and cross-functional collaboration.
+ Establish and continuously improve frameworks, tools, and governance processes for CVC operations.

**Qualifications**
**Education & Experience**
+ Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced technical degree (e.g., CS, EE) strongly preferred.
+ 12+ years of experience in venture capital, corporate VC, private equity, investment banking, corporate development.
+ Proven track record in sourcing, structuring, and managing early- and growth-stage technology investments.
+ Experience working in or with startups and emerging technologies in compute, storage, infrastructure, or networking sectors.
