We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Boston, Massachusetts. In this role, you will oversee the accounting for venture capital funds, collaborate closely with a third-party fund administrator, and manage tasks related to portfolio company investments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee partnership accounting for venture capital funds, including managing quarterly fund closings and General Partner fund books.
- Analyze and monitor the financial performance of portfolio companies by reviewing monthly statements and preparing materials for quarterly valuation meetings.
- Develop and maintain firm-wide and portfolio-specific reporting systems to enhance operational efficiency.
- Support the administration of specialized programs, such as the Flare Scholar Program.
- Prepare regular and ad hoc reports, presentations, and materials to support fundraising efforts and annual meetings.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate interim and year-end audits.
- Ensure tax compliance by calculating taxable income for the funds.
- Assist with valuation modeling and waterfall calculations for portfolio companies.

The Role:

Our client requires 3+ years Fund Accounting experience within asset management, Big 4/Public Accounting or a Fund Administrator. Responsibilities:
+ Conduct detailed reviews of quarterly reports prepared by the fund administrator for both open-ended and closed-ended funds.
+ Reconcile digital asset transactions against the blockchain on an ongoing basis.
+ Review and distribute quarterly capital statements to investors.
+ Act as a primary contact for managing fund administrator relationships.
+ Work on fund operations processes including capital calls, distributions, redemptions, investment funding, expense payment and cash receipts.
+ Monitor fund finances and investments, tracking investment information and valuation updates within our proprietary portfolio database.

The Associate, Corporate Venture Capital will support the manager or director in leading strategic investment and partnership initiatives, including minority investments in growth stage companies. **Compensation Data**
The expected salary for this position is $110,000 - $145,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.

Venture Capital - Partner Development Manager (PDMR-VC) is the primary owner of the relationship between Microsoft and a select list of venture capital (VC) firms. Microsoft aspires to offer the most comprehensive, inclusive, and profitable partner network in the industry. The individual contributor is part of the Global Partner Solutions (GPS) organization. GPS leads this effort in recruiting venture capital (VC) for collaboration and early access to their portfolio companies. Microsoft views relationships with these firms as an integral part of the ISV partner recruit strategy - building solutions together, creating vibrant routes to market, and selling with impact to joint customers.
This individual will manage the relationship with a portfolio of select VC firms, will orchestrate bi directional market signal and will qualify digital natives and other software companies from their portfolio for engagement and to leverage the Microsoft engines. The individual will work with these startups to guide them through recruit and migration processes, to develop their solutions on the Microsoft platform. The Global PDM-VC orchestrates the resources and provides guidance for the duration of the recruit process, working with the new partner to create value that will solve customer business challenges for the prospective customers of the joint offerings. The focus will be on both early stage startups and on late stage, high growth companies within these portfolios and will result in cloud penetration and cloud revenue growth.

+ **Recruitment Strategy and Planning -** Contribute to VC recruitment strategic planning, as well as that of their portfolio companies. Seek and articulate market insights about our top competitors and their offers. Share best practices and learnings.
+ **Recruit and manage VC firm** **partnerships -** Manage relationships with target firms to evangelize value proposition, and quantify market opportunity. Coordinate engagement of Microsoft teams required to enable/skill up partner and manage solution development.

**Qualifications**
**Required/minimum qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Operations, Computer Science or a related field AND 8+ years experience in partner management, sales, business development, or partner channel development in the technology industry or related experience
+ OR equivalent experience
+ 8+ years of experience in business development or alliance management in the technology industry
+ Experience in managing an ecosystem inclusive of venture capital
