The Material Handler will perform a variety of activities relating to inventory control, Greenfield site logistics, material or specimen shipping (domestic & international) and centralized receiving as assigned by Supervisor to meet company standards of quality, customer service, safety and productivity. This position must be able to perform any departmental function and exercise judgement in performing daily duties including problem identification and resolution. Supply Chain supports all Greenfield site business units including leased space.

Working Conditions:

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains responsibility for warehouse pick rates, pick errors and accuracy.
- Maintains all product returns, cancelled orders and ensures items are returned to stock in a timely manner.
- Ensures complete physical cycle count of assigned areas quarterly.
- Accountable for accurate inventory data, proper transactional timing (i.e., receipts and usage data is processed each day), and report inventory variances to management.
- Assists in maintaining an inventory rotation and first in first out procedure.
- Prioritizes daily tasks and special projects within inventory scope as directed by manager.
- Assists in the development, maintenance and update of departmental procedures and departmental training files as needed.
- Optimizes organization of the assigned inventory area and controls to ensure accurate inventory is maintained.
- Assists all internal customers with help in answering any questions pertaining to stock items.
- Ability to expedite transportation arrangements for deliveries and/or pick-ups.
- Adheres to establishes SOPs and Universal Precaution guidelines at all times.
- Ability to requisition needed stock items.
- Maintains a clean, neat and orderly work area. Assists in maintaining the security of the warehouse area. Complies with OSHA and MSDS standards.
- Assists in all necessary steps pertaining to freight claims, damaged shipments and return item authorizations as applicable to inventory stock.
- Maintains documentation for determining maximum and minimum stocking levels and order amounts.
- Other duties as assigned by Management.
Minimum Education and Experience, Required:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Three (3) years of continuous work history with previous receiving and customer service experience within a distribution or warehouse environment.
- Warehouse/inventory experience.
- Shipping experience.
- Verifiable past training and experience of operating forklifts, order pickers and pallet jacks skillfully and safely.
- Forklift/electric pallet jack experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- The ability to drive a box truck on campus daily. (no CDL required) its roughly similar to a large U-Haul truck.
- Associate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Personal computer skills are required with some experience in spreadsheet development.
- Must be able to lift seventy- (70) pounds routinely.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Work experience using Bar Code/ Inventory Control Tracking equipment.
- IATA / DOT certification.

+ Facilitate check-in processes for customer products being returned from Service routes
+ Review and appropriately process all items returned to Route Service Representatives (RSRs) from customers
+ Communicate with RSRs to ensure all documentations for returned items are received
+ Work with RSRs to address and resolve discrepancies between actual returns andpaperwork
+ Remove products from customer invoices and processing credits to customer accounts, when necessary
+ Account for and verify that undelivered products are returned to inventory
+ Maintain records of off-service products
+ Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner
+ Ensure compliance with company policies
+ Manage and perform the verifying processes, as directed.

**Qualifications**

As a critical contributor to efficient and effective productivity within our Distribution Center, you will have responsibility for shipping, receiving, stocking and fulfilling orders of product. With over 300,000 square feet of facility space and thousands of products that are entering and leaving our Center on a daily basis, this role provides the opportunity to make our top-performing location even better, ensuring ever-increasing levels of accuracy, speed, and support to our stores and E-Commerce function. Tasks are typically completed through the use of an RF scanner.
You will accomplish all of these goals by:
- Accurately picking/packing orders using established practices
- Restocking picking bins with product brought from reserve storage
- Accurately sorting, counting, and receiving all merchandise.
- Safely moving product to and from pallet racks with powered material handling equipment (e.g., fork trucks, order selectors and powered pallet jacks (will certify on equipment)
- Safely working with conveyors to accurately build pallets of cartons for shipment
- Loading/unloading trucks
- Organizing warehouse storage space
- Using a scanner to direct work (pick, pack, receive, move)
- Using hands and fingers to handle, or feel; repeatedly reaching overhead with hands and arms to accomplish tasks; using hearing to listen for safety hazards and instructions
- Safely lifting and/or moves boxes, product or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly
- Consistently lifting, bending, standing, walking, stooping and kneeling; occasionally crouching, crawling and climbing stairs during an 8-hour or 10-hour shift and during extended overtime shifts, as needed
- Using close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception while performing warehouse functions
- Working overtime as determined by business needs during the week and/or weekends
- Following instructions quickly, safely and accurately
- Working effectively in a team environment
- Effectively communicating and understanding basic written/oral instructions in English, as well as reading/interpreting documents (e.g., safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals)
- Demonstrating flexibility in daily task assignments
Qualified candidates will be self-motivated individuals who are 18+ years of age with the ability to successfully complete training and obtain certification in your assigned area. Additional requirements include:
- Solid math skills, including the ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply and divide
- A high school diploma or GED, with 1+ year of related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience) are desired, but not required
