Job Summary: The purpose of the role is to manage customer demand, oversee the development of the plant schedule to cover customer demand and optimize production output, steer and optimize material flow through effective inventory management practices; assure efficient warehousing and material handling processes.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Material Planning: Implement effective material planning strategies to ensure the availability of materials required for production and operations.
  • Production Scheduling: Oversee generation of the plant production schedule, ensuring alignment between customer demand and material planning.
  • Warehousing: Oversee warehousing operations, including inventory management, storage, and distribution of materials.
  • Internal Material Handling: Manage the internal movement of materials, ensuring efficient and safe handling practices.
  • Customer Demand Management: Collaborate with sales and production teams to accurately forecast and manage customer demand.
  • Delivery Management: Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to customers, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor and control inventory levels to minimize excess stock and reduce costs.
  • Supplier Coordination: Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of materials and resolve any supply chain issues.
  • Annual Budget and Periodic Forecasts: Support the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, including the development of cost improvement initiatives.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste in material handling and warehousing operations.
  • Compliance: Ensure all material handling and warehousing activities comply with relevant safety and regulatory standards.

Education, Experience And Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in material planning, warehousing, and internal material handling.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management principles and practices.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and other relevant tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CPIM, CSCP).
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

Location and Travel Requirements:

  • On-site at the Lexington location
  • Less than 5% travel associated with this role
