About the role
We're looking for a Web Design Engineer who will own our entire end to end website experience and take it to the next level. From wireframes to animations, you'll bring ideas to life in a way that makes our brand of being developer-first unmistakably us. - You're a frontend engineer who codes with craft and cares about the story the website tells.
- Strong with JavaScript, but just as tuned into performance, accessibility, and how things feel.
- You get SEO and GEO, love polish, and don't need hand-holding to ship something great.
- Experience with animation, visual design, localization, and building high-traffic websites.
- Owner of a portfolio you can't wait to share
- A background in design.
- Experience with Motion or other animation tools.
- Experience with localization quirks, HTML email design, or Cloudflare Workers.

- Base salary range: $120,000 - $150,000.

+ **6-8 years of experience** in graphic design with a strong emphasis on **web design** .
+ **Expert proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite** (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
+ Strong knowledge of web design best practices, UX/UI principles, and responsive design.

+ Familiarity with Umbraco CMS is a plus.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Web Design and Social MediaManager reports to the Director of Marketing and is responsible for thedevelopment and strategic management of the School of Nursing website, Intranetsites, and social media marketing and communication initiatives.
DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops, implements, and maintainscontent for the School of Nursing website and social media channels includingdevelopment, accessibility, content updates, page design and graphics, and userexperience for the School of Nursing website and Intranet site.
Takes initiative to propose digitalassets to support content strategy. Reviews all creativeassets and content submitted for the website to ensure consistent quality andSEO optimization.
Responsible forediting video and taking photography at events to be used on website, in socialmedia and email marketing campaigns.
Collaborates withthe Director of Marketing, Department of Marketing and Communication (DMC)and EAB to refine and oversee theschool's brand voice online and establish consistent brand presence andadherence to compliance requirements across web platforms. Executes aneditorial calendar for feature articles, social media posts, and planned webcontent. Creates a yearly social media plan to share with university socialmedia collaborators.
Establishesmeasurable goals for website and social media accounts, implements tools formeasuring effectiveness, and analyzes results to make data-driven contentdecisions.
Reviews analyticsregularly to determine how users are interacting with the content and uses datato make informed decisions. Improves user experienceand maintains effective information architecture, including overseeing and executing testing strategies to ensure continuous trafficimprovements.
Collaborateswith the Director of Admissions and recruitmentpersonnel in efforts related to undergraduate and graduate recruitment, such aswebsite content, events, and social media initiatives.
Collaborates withthe Assistant Dean for Recruitment and Enrollment Management, Director ofMarketing and DMC with the strategic creation and execution of social media anddigital marketing campaigns. Monitorseffective benchmarks and best practices for measuring impact of campaigns;analyzes results and subsequent strategies.
Works closely withEAB, DMC, Enrollment Management Group, and Computing and Technology Services totroubleshoot issues, implement new technology as appropriate, and developinformed content strategy.
Communicates with faculty, students,and administrators, technical and external constituencies to align web needswith the overall web communications strategy.
Assistswith basic graphic design projects such as creating fillable PDFs, creating internal invitations,presentations and various requests from the Dean's Office and School of Nursingfaculty and staff.
Writes and edits publications andinternal/external communications as needed.
Develops and maintains the School's Display Monitors; assists with eventsand presentations.
Completes other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institutionin marketing, communication, technology, or other related field.
3-5 years of progressive experience in content, web, or marketingrole.
Demonstrated experience in: content marketing and website development, editorial writing, analytics/reporting, and marketing communications plans. Applicants must submit a portfolioof work they have completed in a professional setting.
Strong project management skills and the ability to set prioritiesand manage competing demands. Strong written and verbal communicationskills.
Working knowledge of Google Analytics.
Experience using Modern Campus Omni CMS, Power Point, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustratorand InDesign). Familiarity with othergraphic design programs such as Canva, Visme and Prezi are also desired.
Preferred qualifications:
Basic video skills preferred.
Experience working in higher education preferred.
