Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure patient care, safety and comfort during the x-ray exam Operate radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. • Perform a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation to detect pathology (e.g., routine radiology examinations, motion-free exams, portable/bedside examinations, fluoroscopy and invasive exams, OR and ED procedures and bone density procedures).
• Regulate and operate equipment.
• Review prep information with patients, explain the procedure and obtain written consent.
• Document pertinent clinical patient information, such as medical history and allergies.
• Demonstrate a calm and understanding approach to ease any fear or anxiety.
• Transport patients to and from the department/their room and contact nurses about patients who are connected to devices or monitors.
• Interact, communicate and collaborate with nursing caregivers to obtain signed consent forms, assist with exams and prep and determine the length of time the patient will be in the department.
• Check written orders from physicians before the procedure and document in the chart after the procedure.

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
