Schedule: 20 hours per week Monday-Friday, with additional hours available during school breaks, early release days, and summer season. Schedule to be finalized upon hire.
JOB SUMMARY
The Teen Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing engaging and empowering programs tailored to the unique needs of teenagers in the community. This role involves creating a positive and inclusive environment, recruiting participants through outreach efforts, providing mentorship and support, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the success of diverse programs. With a commitment to youth development principles and strong interpersonal skills, the Teen Coordinator plays a pivotal role in fostering personal growth and positive experiences for teens within the local community.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the planning, marketing, and delivery of educational and recreational programming for Club members.
- Plan and implement programs and activities that fall under the Academic Success and Healthy Lifestyles outcome areas for Boys & Girls Clubs programs, which include but are not limited to, homework help, art projects, and field trips for middle/high school members.
- Deliver age-appropriate programs and activities for youth in grades 6-12. Coverage for elementary programs and activities may occur on occasion.
- Actively supervise areas to promote a safe and positive environment.
- Maintain a positive Boys & Girls Club culture with high energy, strong teamwork, and effective collaboration with other staff.
- Promote daily program participation.
- Maintain productive relationships with parents, staff, and other visitors to Club.
- Model positive behaviors for children and staff.
- Attend branch staff meetings and mandatory monthly all-staff trainings.
- Assume other tasks, assignments, and responsibilities as needed or directed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Demonstrated experience working with youth, parents/guardians and/or community partners.
- Demonstrated experience working in a team environment.
- Excellent communication, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to de-escalate problems when present, and problem-solve during day-to-day activities.
- Ability to work in a busy, high-energy, kid-centric environment.
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid certifications (course available upon hire).

- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Spanish and English, allowing for effective communication with Spanish-speaking clients, partners, and team members.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position operates primarily in Club-based indoor settings and uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and filing systems. It will require travel between Club sites and sometimes to off-site locations for trainings, meetings, or program support.
The role requires physical, mental, and emotional stamina to work in dynamic and sometimes high-energy environments. Duties may involve standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, and using hands for various tasks. The employee must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and move about the work environment with sufficient agility to push/pull, squat, bend, stoop, twist, and reach overhead.
Additional requirements include:
- Manual dexterity to write, use phones and computers, and operate a vehicle.
- Visual and auditory ability to read materials, engage in conversation, and lead groups.
- Mental acuity to assess and respond to situations, collect and interpret data, solve problems, and make sound decisions.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Youth Development Attendant, you will supervise children in the YMCA Youth Development Center. In addition, you will be responsible for providing safe and enjoyable childcare for members and their children in accordance with the YMCA Mission and policies. You will be responsible for the safety and well-being of each child under your supervision. You must maintain visual and auditory supervision at all times while creating a fun and playful atmosphere for participants. Summary
YDP’s prepare youth for success by creating an environment that facilitates the achievement of Boys & Girls Clubs’ youth development outcomes. This work is accomplished by promoting participation in clubhouse programs, providing guidance, and role modeling to members.
Health and Life Skills Specialists : develop young people's capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals and live successfully as self-sufficient adults.
Character & Leadership : enable youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines apply learning to everyday situations and embrace technology to achieve success in a career.
Sports, Fitness, & Recreation Specialists: help young people develop fitness, positive use of leisure time, skills for stress management, appreciation for the environment and social skills.
Education and Career Development YDP’s : is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of a broad range of programs in the Boys & Girls Club Core Program Area of Education and Career Development within a designated Club.
The Arts and Cultural Enrichment Specialists : enable youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, performing arts and creative writing.
Technology Specialists : present technology programming that encompasses all of our core areas including Character and Leadership, Arts and Cultural Enrichment, Health and Life Skills, Sports, Fitness, and Recreation, and Education.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Plans, implements, supervises and evaluates activities provided in within a specific program area, such as Education, Special Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, and Physical Education.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

- register new members and participate in their club orientation process;

Program Development and Implementation
Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities for drop-in members and visitors.
Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the branch at all times. Prepare periodic activity reports.
Supervision
Ensure a productive work environment by participating in weekly branch staff meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience working with youth and understanding of youth development
- Demonstrated experience conducting youth activities in at least one of the designated Core Areas

Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Clubhouse Director, the Youth Development Coordinator supports our Clubhouse by providing program and departmental support to Club Staff. This person will be running or supporting programs that engage youth ages 6-18 years of age and shall assume accountability for the results in achieving the outlined goals and objectives of those programs. This person may also support the Clubhouse Director and Assistant Director in various administrative duties including data entry reporting under the direct supervision of the Assistant Clubhouse Director, the Youth Development Coordinator supports our Mission Clubhouse by providing program and departmental support to Club Staff.
This is a part-time opportunity offering 25 hours weekly during the school year and 40 hours weekly for Summer Programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct educational and recreational programs in a Clubhouse.
- Help youth with homework and tutor, run games, and drop in activities
- Develop educational programs that are stimulating and age appropriate for all members.
- Provide an environment that promotes creativity and exploration through learning.
- Safeguard the confidentiality and safety of all members.
- Promote and stimulate membership in the department ensuring that every Club member participates in some Learning Center activities.
- Understand and communicate to youth the importance of doing well in school and having a plan for going to college, vocational school, or entering the workforce at age 18.
- Support site in taking program attendance daily for programs.
- Support with school pick-ups, snack, outside recreation time, and games room activities
- Work with volunteer tutors and students to participate in an ongoing education improvement program.
Required Skills:
- Experience working with youth ages 6-18 years old in a youth development setting.
- The ability to create strong relationships with youth in a short period of time.
- Ability to manage youth behaviors and maintain high expectations.
- An interest in a variety of youth programs including technology, art, sports, and recreation.
- Strong positive disciplinary skills with youth.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated research and organization skills.
- Ability to use PC computer software such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with continual distractions.

- Strong ability to create and follow systems and procedures.
- Current Red Cross First Aid/CPR certification (or within 90 days of employment).
Preferred Skills:
- B.A. or B.S. Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent youth development experience.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for at least 2 hours consecutively.
- Must be able to sit at a computer workstation for long periods of time.

Pay;
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and BGCSF needs. At BGCSF, our decisions are based on other factors and dependent on circumstances for each position. Depending on the need and requirement of the position, an individual could be hired at or near the entry level, mid - level or top of the range for their role and compensation. As such, a reasonable estimate of the current range is $20.00 to $21.00.

DEFINITION:
Under the supervision of the Program Manager for the Aspire After School Program, the Instructional Aide provide direct supervision to a group of elementary or middle school aged students (15-20 scholars) during after school hours Mon.-Fri. 1:30 pm 6:00 pm - in providing thematic activities/projects, recreation activities and academic enrichment in a structured environment. Classroom management is a must (ongoing training is provided in this area). Daily attendance is mandatory.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Supervise and engage a cluster of youth by planning and implementing program
activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with
Aspire Youth Program values. - Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards.
- Submit to Program Manager weekly lesson plans of activities that align with theme for
the school year. - Attend mandatory/paid training as required.
- Provide homework assistance as necessary in the areas of language arts, mathematics
and reading in a structured, learning environment conducive to academic growth. - Follows Aspire After School Program policies and procedures, including those related to
medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention/reporting, dress code, cell
phone use, and emergencies. - Maintain positive relations with students, parents, and other staff. Model relationship-
building skills in all interactions. - Proactively communicate with supervisor on all operations.
- Demonstrate sound judgment and professionalism in all interactions at all times.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of:
Working with elementary or middle school age youth groups (minimum of 15-20
students in group).
Complete weekly lesson plans to include special projects/activities, recreational games
(indoor and outdoor) and academic enrichment each day.
Coordinate thematic classroom boards that reflect student learning each week.
Complete daily program paperwork as needed (i.e. class attendance, absence report,
incident report, etc.)
Classroom management for 15-20 students.
Relationship building skills with students.
Work with a team of other Instructional Aides to develop innovative, creative ideas that
develop students academic and social emotional growth.
Ability To:
Maintain a positive attitude while interacting will school aged scholars.
Cultivate and build a learning environment that promotes social-emotional and
academic growth.
Think outside of the box when planning activities for the classroom.
Ability to research elementary school educational sites when developing lesson plans.
Communicate effectively and professional with students, parents, public and staff.
Follow directions given by the Program Manager.
Maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and public.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Must be 18 years of age.
2. Must have taken COVID-19 vaccination
3. Must have (a) at least 48 semester college units (please send transcripts with
application, unofficial are acceptable) or (b) Pass the high school exit exams
(administered by the District)
4. TB clearance (please send copy of clearance with application).
5. Must pass DOJ/FBI criminal background check.
6. Must be punctual and reliable.
7. Must have experience working with youth and general knowledge base of core
elementary subjects.
8. Must possess strong classroom and behavioral management skills.
9. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Must be able to communicate openly in a professional manner with students, parents,

This position, as top administrative staff for childcare and youth programs, is responsible for day-to-day general administration of early childhood and school-age services. Duties include supervision and coaching of over 100 staff, managing a $4.5M+ budget, income generation, program development, policy compliance, quality control, community partnerships, long-range planning, and facility oversight. The Executive Director ensures compliance with state licensing requirements, child safety protocols, and YMCA standards while advancing the Association's mission.
- Ensure compliance with all state and county childcare licensing regulations (Title 22/Title 5) and YMCA standards. Develop, implement, and enforce written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including Lost Child Procedures, supervision ratios, safety drills, and staff training requirements.
- Direct and administer total operations including execution of policies, procedures, and staffing. Evaluate program effectiveness, staff performance, and overall program safety.
- Develop and maintain a structured staff training program (orientation, ongoing, and annual refreshers) with documented completion tracking for CPR, First Aid, and Mandated Reporter certifications.
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate staff performance for over 100 employees across multiple program sites. Provide clear performance expectations, feedback, and annual reviews.
- Prepare, administer, and forecast budgets. Submit monthly variance reports, corrective action plans when needed, and ensure fiscal accountability and sustainability of all programs.
- Maintain strong relationships with school boards, superintendents, licensing agencies, parents, and community partners. Respond promptly to inquiries and complaints.
- Ensure facilities and program environments are safe, well-maintained, and meet YMCA standards.
- Represent and promote the YMCA's youth programs in the community, advancing mission and strategic goals.

- Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, Human Services, Nonprofit Management, or Business Administration required.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive leadership experience in youth development, childcare, or education.
- At least 5 years in a senior or executive role managing multi-site operations and large teams (50+ staff).
- Create success in policy development, compliance management, and implementation of SOPs.
- Proven ability to manage multi-million-dollar budgets ($M+) with strong financial forecasting and reporting.
- Experience working with school districts, state licensing agencies, and community partners. - Previous non-profit industry experience
