A Brief Overview
Procurement Senior Category Buyer will oversee categories within our direct procurement programs.This role involves developing procurement strategies, leading high-stakes contract negotiations and analysis, and ensuring maximum value across all transactions. They will conduct in-depth market research for assigned categories to identify top-tier suppliers and uncover new opportunities. The Senior Buyer will develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and business partners to enhance and optimize programs and agreements.
What you will do
Strategic Sourcing: Lead and support stakeholders in strategic sourcing initiatives for designated categories by defining scope requirements, developing comprehensive strategies, and executing high-impact projects. Conduct in-depth market research for assigned categories toidentify trends and recommend new strategies to drive cross functional and holistic business benefits.
Cost Negotiation/Analytics: Lead the gathering and analysis of cost data, perform detailed sku price comparisons, and develop strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize costs and enhance performance. Provides guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), Supplier Performance Management, Negotiations: Lead contract activities, define strategic requirements, manage key supplier relationships, and negotiate complex terms to secure competitive prices and advantageous clauses for Safelite, with minimal leadership support required.
Operational Procurement and Compliance: Support the procure-to-pay process within Safelite for assigned suppliers, providing strategic guidance and leadership to stakeholders to optimize efficiency
Supplier Relationships and Analysis: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and business partners to enhance and optimize programs and agreements. Lead the preparation and distribution of comprehensive category reports and in-depth analyses, providing critical insights on performance and identifying high-value opportunities for strategic adjustments and improvements.

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field Required

The Category Sourcing Specialist for Cold Chain will be supporting managing and sourcing of suppliers in the cold chain category to include both current and new product and suppliers. This position will also be responsible for managing all the vendors' activities with Shorr including margin improvement, payment terms and rebate programs as well as operational compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Product expert in the cold chain category along with staying current on industry trends.
- Effectively source cold chain related items based on Sales Representative and customer needs
- Ability to resource existing items for cost savings
- Process annual business reviews with top assigned suppliers to include rebate contracts, payment terms and partnership, directing spend to preferred suppliers
- Working within Shorr's Salesforce Quoting environment sourcing, quoting, and processing quotes
- Full involvement of Shorr's return procedures
- Provide training and manage other projects as assigned
- Support the Procurement Operations Team for item content
- Support sales through return process, quoting process, general item process
- Support Shorr's supplier and product selection through the RFQ process
- Support Shorr's private label program on items that fall within assigned categories
- Becomes an authority within product categories and offers information and light training to other individuals
- Manages all aspects of product & supplier management including financials, relationships, product selection, negotiation and deal closure including ability to effectively run RFQs/RFPs
- Manages the integrity of all item database information for both initial setup and maintenance
Shorr Packaging does not provide work authorization sponsorship for this position. The targeted compensation for this position is between $75 - $85K base plus targeted bonus, depending on skills and experience of the selected candidate.

- A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 3 plus years of cold chain packaging technology category experience
- Sourcing, purchasing or inventory related experience preferred
- Microsoft Office with emphasis on Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational skills to include multitasking

- Ability to run and understand supplier metric reports

This position works out of our Easton Square Columbus location in the Global Purchasing Services division.
The Senior Manager of Global Procurement for Ingredient Categories will oversee procurement activities, develop strategies, and manage supplier relationships to ensure the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of ingredients. This role involves leading a team of procurement professionals and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support Abbott Nutrition's business goals.
**What You'll Work On**

**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree preferably in Engineering, Science, Business, Operations or Technical Field
+ 6-8 years of work experience
+ At least 4-6 years' experience in staff management and development.
+ Strong cross-functional project management and leadership skills.
+ Proven success in leading cross-functional team activities. Ability to manage and influence multiple internal and external stakeholders
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula and nutritionals.
