The Pharmacy Technician – Inpatient, PRN supports daily pharmacy operations within a collaborative team environment that includes a Buyer, Lead Technician, Automation Technician, and approximately 30 pharmacy technicians. This role is responsible for medication preparation, unit-dose packaging, carousel utilization, and timely delivery to patient care areas, along with inventory management, expiration monitoring, and support of technology and process improvements. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to contribute to continuous improvement efforts. Prior hospital pharmacy experience is preferred, and candidates with demonstrated initiative or informal leadership experience are encouraged to apply.
A caregiver in the PRN role will work various shifts as needed. 4 shifts per month with two of those shifts having to be on a Saturday or Sunday. During the initial new hire 90 days period, caregivers must be able to work 3-4 shifts per week. This is a hard requirement that it must be at least 3 shifts per week for the first 90 days. Will work 8 hour shifts morning, mid or evening shifts varying from 6:30am to 11:00pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding.
- Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, and document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities and training.
- Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks.
- Assist with the training of pharmacy caregivers and students.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to communicate with other caregivers and patients in an effective and positive manner
- Demonstration of emotional control and intelligence in managing work relationships
- Ability to perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds
- Basic computer skills
Must meet all of the following license and certification combination requirements at the time of application:
- Must hold an active registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician through the Florida Board of Pharmacy (FBOP).
- It is required, within 18 months from the date of hire: Must obtain a national certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA) AND Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Florida Board of Pharmacy

An echocardiogram can be administered externally on a patient's chest but can also be conducted by placing a tube down a patient's esophagus to get closer to the heart internally. Minimum qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:
- Associate's Degree in Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Medical Technology or equivalent
- Licensed in the State of Florida at the technologist levels
- One or more specialties in Microbiology, Immunohematology or all licenses
Preferred qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences and Medical Technology
- American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification
- One year of clinical experience
Physical Requirements:
- This position involves turning, stooping, bending, stretching, walking and standing.
- The average amount of lifting is 10 pounds with occasional carrying of objects up to 20 pounds.
- Sitting for short periods of time, the ability to file, move records, laboratory supplies, and equipment are also required physical duties.
- Communication by means of the spoken, written and typed word is required.
- Work requires finger dexterity and eye hand coordination to operate a computer keyboard at a moderate skill level.
- Mental Demands: Ability to work at a fast pace and to prioritize multiple assignments/projects and respond to numerous requests; ability to resolve conflicts among staff and to work collaboratively with department director, physicians and other members of the healthcare team; ability to ensure operational efficiency; ability to problem solve and make decisions; ability to exercise self-control and tolerate stress when dealing with multiple requests and/or conflicting demands from multiple customers.
- Special Demands: Use of personal protective equipment is required as there is a potential for exposure to biohazardous or infectious agents when drawing and processing specimens.
- Confidentiality: The employee has access to the entire medical record for the purpose of charting and correcting laboratory results AND review of physician orders.
- The access is limited to the amount reasonably necessary to achieve the purpose of the laboratory testing request.
- The disclosure or requests that occur on a routine or recurring basis include patient demographics, condition and laboratory results.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

- Strong commitment to patient-centered care, quality improvement, and patient safety.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire staff, faculty, and patients.
- A track record of success in academic or clinical research, with a passion for advancing knowledge in the field.
- Fellowship training or specialization in a particular area of neurosurgery (e.g., spinal, cerebrovascular, trauma, pediatric, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience in building a neurosurgery program with significant clinical volume and quality outcomes.
- Established connections or experience in the Florida medical community and network.
- Active participation in national neurosurgical associations and societies.
