The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of environmental, health, and safety compliance across multiple sites and in multiple states. This role ensures a safe and compliant workplace by developing, implementing, and monitoring policies, procedures, and initiatives in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations. The EHS Manager collaborates with various departments to promote a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure site compliance with OSHA, EPA, local, state, and federal HSE regulations.
    • Maintain required permits, records, and documentation (e.g., air emissions, stormwater, hazardous waste, fire sprinkler/fire alarm systems).
    • Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies during inspections or audits.
  • S afety Program Management:
    • Develop and enforce health and safety programs, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, machine guarding, and hazard communication.
    • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; ensure timely reporting and corrective actions.
    • Conduct risk assessments and job safety analyses (JSAs) for all processes and equipment.
  • Environmental Program Oversight:
    • Manage waste handling, recycling programs, spill prevention, and hazardous materials compliance.
    • Monitor and report environmental metrics (e.g., water, waste, emissions).
    • Coordinate sustainability initiatives as appropriate.
  • Training and Communication:
    • Develop, deliver and track participation in safety training programs, educating employees on safe working practices, emergency response, and environmental compliance.
    • Lead safety meetings and awareness campaigns.
    • Ensure all employees understand and are trained in safety expectations.
  • Auditing and Continuous Improvement:
    • Conduct routine safety inspections, behavior-based observations, and internal audits.
    • Track and analyze EHS performance indicators; implement proactive improvements.
    • Regularly review and report key department metrics to ensure targeted goals are met.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to management and employees on environmental, health and safety related items.
  • Emergency Preparedness:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in training and developing staff.
