The Role at a Glance

This position is for a Sr Infrastructure Architect with 10+ years of IT Infrastructure experience integrating and automating complex heterogenous systems in the cloud and on-prem. The ideal candidate possesses knowledge of on-prem infrastructure such as compute, virtualization and distributed storage. The candidate also has senior level experience with contemporary automation patterns.

What you'll be doing

  • Architect, design and deliver highly available, reliable and cost-effective Compute and Storage solutions.

  • Design and automate Infrastructure reports using data pulled from multiple sources.

  • Design and automate orchestration solutions for three tier infrastructure via API.

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop and maintain end to end automated workflows for Infrastructure.

  • Architect, solution and perform POC (Proof of Concept) testing and documentation.

  • Work with other teams to create an architectural model before moving forward with POC.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design automated solutions to common and redundant tasks.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation for automation solutions.

  • Lead mentoring and training sessions of automated solutions for other team members.

  • Present engineered solutions to Architecture and Peer Review Boards.

  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies of Infrastructure, Disaster Recovery and Cloud Computing.

  • Work closely with Security and Enterprise Architecture to design enterprise compliant solutions.

  • Evaluate vendor hardware and software solutions and give recommendations.

What we're looking for

  • 4 Year/bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelors) Minimum Required in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience.

  • 10+ years of experience with VMware and/or other hypervisors.

  • 10+ years of experience architecting distributed compute solutions.

  • Expertise with routine automation using PowerShell or Python.

  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP network architecture and implementation.

  • Strong critical thinking, analysis and problem-solving skills with attention to details.

  • Expertise with supporting underlying storage configurations for VMware and guest OS's.

  • Strong communications skills and the ability to effectively communication technical solutions to stakeholders.

The pay range for this position is $108,501 - $195,900 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees.
