PATIENT CARE ASSISTANT 2D MEDICAL ONCOLOGY

2D is a 32 bed medical oncology unit that also sees Breakthrough Program and occasional telemetry patients. It is a busy unit and a great place for new grad nurses to build and solidify their skills. Friendly, upbeat staff provide excellent patient care while focusing on teamwork to help the unit run smoothly. No call or rotating shifts.

POSITION SUMMARY:
A caregiver that is responsible for providing or assisting with patients' care, transporting, maintaining a safe and clean environment, monitoring equipment function and responsible for documenting on appropriate forms. The Patient Care Assistant must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to age groups according to specific chronological age, developmental age and/or psycho-social maturity.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

PATIENT CARE ASSISTANT OBSERVATION

1DOU is a 30 bed observation unit with mostly telemetry and med/surg type patients. Most patients are on the floor for 24-48 hours for observation, or up to 3 days if admitted inpatient. A fast-paced unit, 1DOU has many admissions and discharges every day. They welcome new grads to their unit, and it is a great place to solidify nursing skills.

A Brief Overview

Completes patient care activities & provides clerical support as delegated by the RN. May perform PCNA and/or administrative assistant during a shift as needed. Perform duties including, but not limited to: ADLs, vital signs, I & O, 12-lead ECG, bladder scan, hygiene, and venipuncture (where applicable).
