Summary:

The Leadership Gifts Officer manages a portfolio of up to 125 prospects at the $2,500+ level including all qualification, cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation activities that contribute to a network-wide goal of $5M+ across seven hospitals in western Connecticut and upper Hudson Valley region. The individual will be responsible for 500K+ in annual fund and leadership giving commitments. Additionally, he/she will serve as a liaison to administration, medical and nursing leadership at the Hospitals.

Responsibilities:

  • Qualifies, manages, cultivates, solicits, and stewards a portfolio of up to 125 annual/LGO level donors.

  • Creates a plan and implements strategic initiatives as part of a team to increase gifts revenue from individuals, the local business community and grant funders.

  • Supports annual Physician and Employee Campaigns. Responsible for presenting at department meetings, soliciting and stewarding donors and helping prepare staff for outreach and solicitations.

  • Works in partnership with physicians and clinical staff to determine grateful patients to support the Hospitals.

  • Assists Foundation staff with cultivation, stewardship and fundraising events.

  • Works with annual fund colleagues and Director of Leadership Gifts & Physician Engagement to qualify prospective donors, retain donors, and move donors up the giving pipeline to the Navigator�s Program ($10 annually) and above.

  • Works with Dir. Systems and Analytics to identify suspects and prospects to ensure a steady stream of new donors for the Hospitals.

  • Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

  • Demonstrates ability to operate the Blackbaud system on a regular basis to record all outreach, proposals, and solicitation and stewardship activities with assigned prospects.

  • Models and maintains Nuvance Health values.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

This position requires a minimum formal education of Bachelors Degree and minimum of two-year job-related experience preferably in a health care setting. Proven track record of fundraising success and ability to work in a highly ethical team environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO Reporting to the Deputy Director , Leadership Gifts , the Leadership Gifts Associate provides fundraising, research, and administrative support to the Leadership Gifts team. YOUR DAY TO DAY Work in close partnership with and support Leadership Gifts fundraisers and the Deputy Director of Leadership Gifts. Maintain and enter donor-related communications and data to our CRM Ensure accurate record-keeping, data hygiene, financial and pledge reporting & timely gift processing Assist in the preparation of donor strategy briefing papers, funding proposals, reports, and talking points Edit and send gift acknowledgement letters as well as assist with other donor stewardship documentation and communication Support and contribute to the unit’s business processes, including managing donor database records, moves management, performance reporting, coordinating solicitation resources, scheduling meetings, and administering budget and expense reports Conduct research on donor and prospects regarding gift capacity and inclination, and make recommendations for portfolio assignment Draft, edit, and proofread donor communications, and maintain working knowledge of relevant ACLU issue areas and activities Provide production support for donor meetings, small group events, and donor communications Manage staff travel, including coordination and prioritization of ACLU national and affiliate for donor visits Handle special projects and other duties as assigned FUTURE ACLU'ERS WILL Be committed to advancing the mission of the ACLU Center and embed the principles of equity, inclusion and belonging in their work by demonstrating commitment to diversity with an approach that respects and values multiple perspectives Be committed to working collaboratively and respectfully toward resolving obstacles and conflicts WHAT YOU'LL BRING Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to represent the organization to donors as well as interface with all levels of staff and volunteers while maintaining tact, diplomacy and confidentiality Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects; superior attention to detail with strong follow-through Strong communication, writing, proofreading, and editing skills Ability to apply sound judgment to share information internally and externally, and serve as a resource for others Ability to proactively contribute to assigned as well as unassigned tasks and projects, and work independently and with others to identify and solve problems PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of, or desire to learn about, the major gift fundraising field Familiarity with office software and fundraising databases Experience working at complex, fast-paced national or international nonprofits COMPENSATION The ACLU is committed to equity, transparency, and clarity in pay.
