Catholic Charities of Baltimore, Our Daily Bread Employment Center is currently seeking a Job Placement Specialist who is responsible for job development to acquire job openings, promote job opportunities in the business community and build an ongoing relationship with employers. Places clients in jobs with employers. The work schedule is Monday - Friday: 8:30am - 4:30pm

Places clients in jobs with employers. The work schedule is Monday - Friday: 8:30am - 4:30pm
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Community Outreach/Job Development:
- Promote and discover job openings that meet the needs of clients.
- Educate employers in matters relating to employing ODBEC clients.
- Advocate for the employment of clients.
- Assist in marketing the Program and Services to the community and presenting information about program to outside organizations.
- Maintain knowledge of labor markets and workforce development for low-income clients.
- Develop and recruit Employers on regular basis (weekly)
- Cultivate and maintain a professional and customer service oriented relationship with employers
- Ensure employer satisfaction through the post hire phase. Continue to maintain employee satisfaction so that employers continue to hire clients.
- Meets with clients to establish rapport and assess client's abilities and employment goals.
- Maintain effective client record keeping and tracking systems as proscribed by the Employment Services database process.
- Places clients into jobs that appropriately match their skills, abilities and career goals.
- Meet placement goals as outlined in job expectations summary.
- Use a coaching model to help clients overcome obstacles to reach desired outcome.
- Keep records, collect and input data into Agency databases and report statistical information to supervisor.
- Possess knowledge of and comply with mission, philosophy, policies and procedures of ODBEC in all matters related to employment at ODBEC.
- Provide hospitality to all ODBEC visitors and treat all clients with dignity and respect.
- Work as a member of the ODBEC team in collaboration with all other ODBEC employees and volunteers to deliver the highest quality services to all clients.
- Possess a working knowledge of all services provided at ODBEC
- Participate in meetings and trainings as requested, to include substance abuse, health and mental health sensitivity training.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Marketing, Business or related field and minimum of 2 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- The position requires excellent presentation, marketing, and entrepreneurial skills.
- Must have ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form; impart information to others using adult methods of instruction; organize and prioritize work; must be creative, enthusiastic and have a "can do" attitude; develop beneficial working relationships with employers; pay attention to details; work independently and as a productive member of a team; and meets established deadlines and goals.
- Driver's license with no more than 3 points required with own reliable transportation.
- Ability to move freely throughout the building including using stairs, and to travel between the office and locations in the region in a timely and efficient manner.
- Must have visual and hearing acuity and clear speech sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job efficiently.
