JOB SUMMARYThe Patient Care Technician (PCT) will provide support to the ASC staff to ensure patient safety and high-quality care is provided at all times. Duties will include assisting pre and post op nursing teams in basic patient care and in prepping the facility to ensure safe and clean at all times. The PCT directly reports to the ASC Administrator. JOB DESCRIPTION Transport patients safely through facility Assist with turning over operating rooms between cases occasionally Assist in monitoring and recording in environmental and equipment log. Answer phones and data entry. Uses equipment in safe and effective manner; reporting repairs to appropriate person. Competent and responsible in prevention of contamination and transfer of infection. Assist RNs in pre-op and PACU. Position Summary Under direct supervision of licensed personnel, the Patient Care Assistant is responsible for performing activities of daily living for patients and generally assist with the unit activities that support patient care in the Observation Care Unit at MemorialCare Long BeachMedical Center. Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job •Under the supervision of licensed personnel, performs patient care activities as identified on Patient Care Assistant competency checklist. •Recognizes and reports changing patient care needs to the registered nurse. •Documents findings and maintains privacy in patient's medical record in compliance with unit specific standards and systems. •Provides emotional and physical comfort to patients and provides a safe environment for patients. Responsible for maintenance of the department equipment, reporting and follow-up of equipment in need of repairs *Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Certified Nursing Assistants with 3 years of experience in an acute care facility or 5 years or experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or sub-acute setting or Nursing students actively enrolled in a nursing program who have completed the first semester of the nursing program. Education/Licensure/Certification: A current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) certification is required High school diploma or equivalency Basic computer knowledge preferred

The Associate Patient Care Coordinator is responsible to the Center Administrator and provides appointment scheduling, patient registration, cashiering, answers incoming calls and performs other related clerical functions. This primary role provides front office support functions. 

Hours : This position is a per diem role. Typical hours will be M-F, 8 AM- 5 PM, as needed.

Location : Multiple sites around Long Beach, CA and South Bay, CA 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Greets patients as they arrive and manage appropriate standard wait times
• Complete check-in and check-out tasks to include patient demographic verification, insurance verification, complete pre-authorizations and/or precertification of procedures and copy required documents
• Collects co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles and issues receipts
• Manages cashier box and daily deposits according to company policies
• Answers phones and schedules appointments
• Answer telephone calls, re-direct calls as appropriate, assist callers with questions or concerns and take messages as needed
• Manages medical records (maintains, files/scans, prepares for schedule)
• Ensures all correspondence is scanned and/or filed, processes requests for medical records release and maintains appropriate logs, etc.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public
• Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications: 

• High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
• 1+ years of experience in healthcare or customer service 
• Beginner level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Reliable transportation to commute to various locations

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience with medical office processes
• 1+ years of related work experience including data entry
• Prior experience with EMR computer applications
• Advanced experience working with Excel/ Smart Sheets
• Prior experience working in Recruitment/Talent Acquisition

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
