ALL ABOUT GENERAL MERCHANDISE

Experts of operations, process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas of the store. This team leads Food & Beverage and Food Service, providing a fresh and food safe experience. Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by owning pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.

  • Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest first culture across the store
  • Experience in retail business fundamentals including: department sales trends, inventory management, and process efficiency and improvement
  • Experience executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals

As a General Merchandise Expert, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:
  • Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests
  • Observe to quickly understand whether a guest needs assistance or wants to interact. Follow body language and verbal clues to tailor your approach
  • Engage with guests in a genuine way, which include asking questions to better understand their specific needs
  • Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the total store, and specific to your area, to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience
  • Thank the guest in a genuine way and let them know we're happy they chose to shop at Target
  • Be knowledgeable of GM areas to ensure sales floor is zoned, in stock and accurately signed and priced for guests
  • Acknowledge guests as you complete workload with minimal guest disruption; partner with leadership to prioritize daily workload based on business and guest needs
  • Ensure regular and promotional signing is set accurately for GM categories and be knowledgeable of products in the ad
  • Execute inbound, replenishment, backroom and signing processes for GM areas
  • Execute processes including pricing, presentation sets, and inventory accuracy as directed by your leader for all areas
  • Understand how operational procedures, like planogram (POG) ties, product capacities and salesfloor quantities impact shortage, profitability, in store replenishment and inventory accuracy
  • Operate power equipment only if certified
  • Follow processes accurately with attention to detail, monitor own progress
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance
  • Work in a safe manner at all times to benefit yourself and others; identify and correct hazards; comply with all safety policies and best practices
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier, and digital fulfillment processes and maintain compliance culture while executing those duties, such as federal, state, and local adult beverage laws
  • All other duties based on business needs

    Job Title: Quality Control AnalystJob Description
    As a Quality Control Analyst, you will perform routine testing support and contribute to various projects. Your primary focus will be on qPCR testing with samples requiring a 7-hour turnaround time, necessitating a collaborative team effort. The testing involves in-process testing on raw materials, typically of pig origin, and finished product testing of pancreatin powder. You will be responsible for contaminant monitoring, environmental monitoring, and instrument calibration and maintenance while samples are running. Additionally, you will be trained on validation tasks, including validating centrifuges, spectrophotometers, and liquid handler robots, as well as software programming and method drafting.
    Responsibilities
    + Perform routine qPCR testing with a 7-hour turnaround time.
    + Conduct in-process testing on raw materials and finished product testing.
    + Extract RNA from tissue samples.
    + Monitor contaminants and environmental conditions.
    + Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments.
    + Prepare inventory and reagents.

    Essential Skills

    The **Branch Quality Control Analyst** is responsible for performing independent, quality control reviews of retail branch locations to identify operational and compliance risk within the retail branch. This associate works closely with the Compliance and Oversight Program Manager and reports to the Director of Compliance & Oversight for Consumer Banking.
