Job Purpose

Lead, create, and implement innovative technical activities and solutions in the areas of Mass Production, Business Plan and New Model to efficiently meet or exceed Safety, Environment, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale characteristic targets.  

Key Accountabilities

• Effectively communicate upstream and downstream to all levels of the organization to assure common understanding and direction.
• Review and analyze daily report(s) to identify safety, quality, delivery gaps and develop potential countermeasures and /or root cause analysis opportunities striving for continuous improvement.
• Utilize data analysis and PDCA to lead, support, develop and justify solutions with related groups/departments for your area of responsibility to solve complex problems.
• Monitor and manage equipment and processes to ensure optimal manufacturing performance and function while minimizing operating expense.
• Develop capability of self, colleagues, and team through training, mentoring, and sharing of experiences in area of technical expertise and understanding.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• Bachelors or Associates degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with relevant experience (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or Electrical, etc) with interest in Manufacturing, if no degree 6 years of experience required.
• 0-6 years’ experience based on education, manufacturing co-op experience preferred but not required.

Decisions Expected

• Follow-up on daily line performance and countermeasure areas of concern.
• Develop / Design strategy to achieve unit and company initiative.
• Lead and evaluate business planning (Justification for resource changes).
• Determine budget and schedule activity needed to improve operations.

Working Conditions

• Work in production environment requiring PPE and lockout in manufacturing operations.
• Manufacturing environment with the potential of working near hydraulic oils, cutting lubricants, ferrous and aluminum materials.
• Hands-on investigation and troubleshooting within equipment to countermeasure issues and to determine improvement activity.
• Working with hand/power tools, automation equipment, quality gauging and instrumentation.
• 50% office environment/ 50% manufacturing lineside activity.
• 10-15 hours overtime per week possible.
• Possible weekend or off-shift support as necessary.
• Travel 5% (domestic & international).

Job Purpose

• Provide leadership to reports representing Honda Philosophy with honest, fair, and consistent treatment and communication.
• Evaluate and ensure management of critical production issues (down time, quality and safety issues etc.) for allocation of resources and appropriate action is taken in a timely manner.
• Design concepts and equipment solution methods to meet the technical requirements established by PDCA analysis, Business Plan, or New Model projects.
• Continuous development of self, colleagues and team through training and mentoring to proactively improve areas of management expertise for personal and team growth.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology (e.g., mechanical, electrical, industrial) or other equivalent related experience.

• 8+ Years manufacturing engineering experience based on education

Job Purpose

Lead die maintenance activities within Ferrous Manufacturing Department with focus on achievement of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost characteristics. Specific responsibilities include leadership of die service staff and technicians, technical guidance for manufacturing lines, and managing overall die maintenance activities. This position will ensure that dies will be ready for production and monitor die performance during production.

Key Accountabilities

• Complete in-depth gap analysis studies on any Die or Quick Cast related issues. Finding root cause and ensuring we are following through with the implementation of an effective solution/counter measure
• Manage a team of technicians, providing direction, training, and offering support.
• Work closely with in-house Engineering and Quality groups on the development of New Model and continuous quality improvement.
  Develop and manage inventory and budgetary plans based off production schedules.
• Staying up to date with emerging technologies and trends to identify opportunities for enhancing equipment performance, efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience
• 2-8 years manufacturing experience (automotive preferred).
• 2+ years of  Equipment Die Service or Die Maintenance
• Die Maintenance understanding (TIG welding, Blueprints, basic knowledge of GD&T, Precision measuring equipment, etc) 
• Strong written and verbal skills
• Strong use of Microsoft Office

Working Conditions

• Onsite workstyle (50% office, 50% manufacturing area
• 5% travel (domestic or international)
• 5-10 hours per week overtime
