What You’ll Do:

The primary focus of this position will be providing comprehensive care inclusive of mental health, substance use and physical health care needs. You will:

Education and Experience:

What You’ll Do:
As a psychiatrist, you will provide direct professional services in the evaluation and treatment of clients in an outpatient environment at a community mental health center. The primary focus of this position will be providing comprehensive care inclusive of mental health and substance use disorder. You will:
Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders. Diagnose disorders, including nature and extent, and determine the appropriate course of treatment for the patient. Prescribe medication when necessary.
Maintain documentation consistent with SummitStone quality assurance procedures and clinical performance standards.
Maintain up-to-date and accurate records according to agency standards.
Achieve SummitStone standards for the provision of direct/billable client services.
Monitor and evaluate the quality of medical and therapeutic services provided.
Provide direct psychiatric treatment for clients.
Attend committee meetings, staff meetings and inter-agency meetings as required.
Comply with County, State and federal laws, rules and regulations pertaining to mental health care.
Maintain medical staff privileges at designated hospital as required.
Participate in on-call coverage schedule on rotating basis.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited university with additional post-graduate training in Psychiatry.
- Demonstrated commitment and experience working with persons from marginalized communities and other patient populations experiencing vulnerabilities.
- Understanding and commitment to Medications for Addiction Treatment and harm reduction principles required
Licenses and Certifications:
- DEA Certification
- License to practice psychiatry in the State of Colorado required.
- Valid Colorado driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record
- Board certified or eligible with plans for certification

As a psychiatrist in our facility, you would provide patient care, physician oversight and expertise, and continuity for our clients and teams.
Longview opened in December 2023 as a collaboration between Larimer County and SummitStone - we provide comprehensive, collaborative, and multidisciplinary care for behavioral health and substance use. In addition to the existing Crisis Walk-In Services, Crisis Stabilization Unit (16 adult beds) and Withdrawal Management Unit (16 adult beds), we are opening an Adolescent Unit (8 beds for adolescents aged 12-17) in the Summer 2025. The ideal candidate would be willing to see both adult and adolescent clients.
This role involves conducting thorough psychiatric evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing psychotherapy or medication management to help patients cope with issues such as psychosis, mania, suicidal ideation, depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, substance use, eating disorders, and behavioral problems. The Psychiatrist will work closely with patients, their families, our advanced practice providers, and an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and positive outcomes for each patient.
This role includes teaching and training students and residents as well as collaborating with others care givers on the medical and therapy teams.
Compassion, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of behavioral health are key to success in this role.
Education and Experience:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited university with additional post-graduate training in psychiatry.
- More than two years of post-residency experience in treating and servicing persons with substance use and mental health needs preferred but not required. New graduates are welcome to apply.
