Chaplains offer everything from faith leadership to personal advice to much-needed solace—all while living up to the guiding principles of the Chaplain Mission: - Providing religious ministry and support to those of your own faith - Facilitating the religious requirements of those from all faiths - Caring for all servicemembers and their families, including those subscribing to no specific faith - Advising the command in ensuring the free exercise of religion RESPONSIBILITIES As a Navy Chaplain, your job spans a broad range of duties. You will support fellow servicemembers during their most joyful moments and during their most difficult. Your responsibilities might include: - Conducting worship services in a variety of settings - Performing religious rites and ceremonies such as weddings, funeral services, and baptisms - Counseling individuals who seek guidance - Overseeing religious education programs, such as Sunday school and youth groups - Visiting and providing spiritual guidance and care to hospitalized personnel and/or their family members - Training lay leaders who conduct religious education programs - Promoting attendance at religious services, retreats, and conferences - Advising leaders at all levels regarding morale, ethics, and spiritual well-being WORK ENVIRONMENT Navy Chaplains immerse themselves in the daily lives of servicemembers. Promotion opportunities are regularly available but competitive and based on performance. It’s also important to note that specialized training received and work experience gained in the course of service can lead to valuable credentialing and occupational opportunities in related fields such as family counseling and behavioral therapy. EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES Navy Chaplains typically continue their education throughout their careers. Opportunities for continuing education are available through the Advanced Education Program while being paid full-time as a Navy Officer. Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests.May perform the following tasks in accordance with established procedures and as prescribed by applicable licensure/certification:Obtain/record vital signs; perform initial assessment on patient; coordinate patient transfer to hospital and/or discharge; give telephone orders; accept telephone test results; perform telephone triage; call in provider approved prescription refills; specimen collection including stool and urine midstream; catheterize patient; in dwelling catheter urine collection; obtain throat culture; pregnancy testing; administer urine dip; obtain wound culture; perform Snellen vision screening; eye injury management; administer optic/otic meds; assist with lumbar punctures; sputum collection; occult blood testing; assist with vaginal exam; teach crutch/cane walking; teach use of walker; apply Velcro splint; assist with plaster splint; apply moist heat and/or cold packs; administer enema; remove fecal impaction; administer oxygen; teach respiratory hygiene; administer chest physiotherapy; perform oral suction and/or infant suction bulb; wound care; apply sterile dressing; assist with circumcision; perform umbilical care; apply colloidal dressing; open sterile tray; apply topical medications; administer rectal and/or vaginal medications; give oral medications; and, give sublingual medications to adults and/or pediatric patients.May perform the following tasks only if appropriate training has been obtained:Blood collection by lancet; pulse oximetry; incentive Spirometry; suture and/or staple removal; ear irrigation; administer breathing treatment; give allergy/insulin/immunization medications to adult and/or pediatric patients; give intramuscular and/or subcutaneous injections to adult and/or pediatric patients; give injections Z track to adult patients.May perform the following tasks after providing verification of completion of special training:Blood collection venipuncture; audiometry exam; Titmus vision screening; EKG; administer electrical stimulation; assist/process biopsies; draw blood from portocath; assist endoscopy, start saline lock or IV fluids and monitor IV fluids.May administer IV push medications and/or add medications to IV only after completion of special training and only under direct supervision of licensed practitioner.May make arrangements for patient testing and admissions.May be required to have a working knowledge of ICD9, CPT and HCPCS coding and managed care.Responds to incoming telephone calls and (per provider instructions) calls in refills and prescriptions to pharmacy.Per provider and/or established protocol, instructs patients and/or family with regard to medication and treatment and documents the same.Formulates and updates patient care plans. Orders, prepares, and inspects patient charts. Posts tests and examination results. Requirements:

Education/Skills

Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing or vocational nursing.

Experience

Previous medical office experience preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

Valid state license to practice nursing.Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross

Summary:

The Radiology Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed, and help to facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. The technologist will demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses as needed or required. The technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. Expectation to participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within their scope of licensure. The Technologist will adhere to, and maintain, the expected imaging competencies as outlined by management. Behavior and communication skills must align with the organization's mission, values, and culture.

  • Performs examinations/procedures as needed to assist in patient throughput within the scope of the Manager's license(s), certification(s), and/or documented competencies.
  • Demonstrates flexibility by working other shifts and at other campuses as needed or required.
  • Ensures completed exams are scanned and stored correctly in PACS.
  • Ability to follow PACS downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser and escalate any problem(s) or issue(s) to the PACS administrator or Designee if needed.
  • Troubleshoots and reports any equipment malfunctions to the Director/Manager and/or Biomedical personnel; does appropriate follow-up.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education/Skills

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required 

Experience

  • 1 year of experience in a hospital preferred 
  • Basic computer experience required

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

  • Radiology (R) by ARRT required
  • State licensure required - Texas: MRT by TMB
  • BLS required
