Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement new processes to improve efficiency and ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Manage the company's general ledger, accounts receivable, cash flow, and collections to maintain financial health.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation of financial statements and audit documentation.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of taxes in compliance with all relevant regulations.

- Monitor and enhance accounting systems and procedures, initiating corrective actions when necessary.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet financial reporting objectives and deadlines. Requirements - Proven experience in accounting management or a similar leadership role.
- Proficiency in accounting software systems, including ERP platforms and tools such as BlackLine, Concur, and ADP.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting functions.
- Familiarity with audit processes and tax regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise a team effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and detail-oriented work.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is a plus.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage daily functions of the accounting staff, ensuring consistent adherence to policies and procedures.

Job Description
We are partnering with a growing real estate company that is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Property Accounting Manager to oversee the financial reporting and accounting operations for their portfolio. This role requires a strong technical accounting background, hands-on leadership, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is a licensed CPA with experience in residential real estate and a deep understanding of property-level accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Manage all accounting functions related to a large portfolio of rental properties across multiple markets
+ Lead and mentor a team of property accountants, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
+ Own the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
+ Review property financials for accuracy and alignment with company policies and GAAP standards
+ Oversee rent collections, tenant charges, security deposit tracking, and related reconciliations
+ Perform and review bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately
+ Collaborate with property management and asset management teams to support operational goals and provide timely financial insights
+ Prepare and manage annual operating budgets and provide variance analysis
+ Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of capital expenditures, repairs and maintenance, and operating costs
+ Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors for year-end audits and tax filings
+ Evaluate and improve internal controls, policies, and accounting processes to support scale and efficiencies
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
+ Active CPA license required
+ 5-7+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2+ years managing a team
+ Prior experience in residential property accounting, preferably with single-family rental portfolios
+ Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and real estate accounting principles
+ Proficiency in property management or real estate accounting software (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio, Buildium, RealPage)
+ Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

We are working with a client looking to add an Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting functions of their growing real estate organization. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, optimizing processes, and supporting a variety of real estate accounting operations including property accounting, AP/AR, and general ledger maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance across multiple entities and properties
+ Manage and mentor a team of property accountants and accounting staff
+ Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes
+ Prepare and review internal financial reports, variance analyses, and support schedules
+ Coordinate property-level and corporate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP
+ Partner with asset management, property management, and development teams to support operational goals and provide financial insights
+ Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis across the real estate portfolio
+ Ensure compliance with internal controls and identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
+ Manage annual audits and support tax preparation with external auditors and tax advisors
+ Implement and optimize accounting systems, software, and workflows to support a growing portfolio
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required)
+ 5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
+ Strong understanding of real estate accounting, including property-level accounting, CAM reconciliations, and construction/development accounting
+ Experience with Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, or similar real estate accounting platforms strongly preferred
+ Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
+ Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
