**Job Description:**
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the general ledger and assist with the monthly close process for all US entities. This role is critical to ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial reporting.
The Accounting Manager:

**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Lead, motivate, train and foster the development of direct reports.
+ Manage and oversee the daily operations of the general ledger accounting team.
+ Ensure the timely and accurate completion of month-end close activities, including cost allocation, elimination entries, and reconciliations.
+ Drive continuous improvement of the month-end close process through automation and standardization.
+ Manage and oversee the recording of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
+ Ensure all financial transactions are recorded timely, accurately and in accordance with US GAAP.
+ Perform accounting research as required and in accordance with US GAAP.
+ Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
+ Improve, develop, and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, and controls to support the Organization's financial reporting and internal management needs.
+ Assist in the preparation of financial statements and internal management reports.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., FP&A, Accounts Payable, Payroll) to ensure accurate and complete financial data.
+ Support the annual external audit process, including coordination with the external auditors and facilitating the preparation of audit requests.
+ Ad hoc projects as required.
**Qualifications and experience:**
+ Bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
+ CPA qualified
+ Proficiency in NetSuite and Alteryx required
+ 6 + years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger and month-end close and public accounting.
+ Some management or supervisory experience
+ Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control frameworks, with the ability to implement new accounting procedures, standards and policies.
+ Focus on process improvement and automation
+ Excellent analytical, research and communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Ability to adapt and adjust quickly to competing priorities to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
Revenue Recognition:
- Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606 and company defined policies.
- Review customer contracts and sales agreements to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment, including documentation of technical assessment where necessary.
- Prepare and post revenue-related journal entries.
- Reconcile revenue accounts, including contract assets and deferred revenues, and investigate discrepancies.
- Lead revenue based reporting and analysis, including tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) in line with business objectives.
Accounts Receivable Management & Collections:
- Manage the full accounts receivable cycle, from invoicing to cash application, including heavy partnerships with the Sales and Software teams.
- Generate and distribute customer invoices accurately and promptly through both systematic design and manual intervention when applicable.
- Maintain accurate customer master data and billing information.
- Process and apply customer payments, ensuring proper coding and reconciliation, directly interfacing with customers, sometimes daily
- Monitor aging reports and prioritize collection efforts for delinquent accounts.
- Escalate complex collection issues to management as needed.
- Prepare and analyze bad debt reserves.
Reconciliation & Reporting:
- Perform regular reconciliations of accounts receivable, unbilled receivables, deferred revenues, and other related general ledger accounts.
- Prepare various AR and collections reports for management, including aging analysis, collection forecasts, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
Process Improvement & Compliance:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in revenue and collections.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and external audit requirements.
- Drive period-end close incentives, including detailed documentation of procedures and timeline acceleration.
- Assist with audit requests related to revenue and accounts receivable.

- Generate and distribute customer invoices accurately and promptly through both systematic design and manual intervention when applicable.

- Work closely with senior management, auditors, and cross-functional teams to drive financial accuracy, efficiency, and strategic decision-making

Builder of trusted relationships across DFS GLT, DFS Finance, Dover Finance (Controllership, Systems, FP&A, Internal Audit) and external auditors.
Relationship liaison between DFS and Dover Business Services (shared services) and capable of driving global process improvement in Accounts Receivable, including credit and collection, Accounts Payable and General Ledger.
Able to source best practices across DFS and Dover to implement consistent accounting policy that spans commercial, operational and technical accounting across our global sites.
Assist with special projects on group wide initiatives, Kaizen events, process simplification and DFS specific projects as requested.
Support all M&A activity, compliance initiatives and financial reporting in a detailed and hands-on manner.
Provide technical support and coaching to global financial staffs. Ensure Dover initiatives and requirements are communicated to and implemented by global financial teams.

**As a Manager, you will:**
+ Assist with financial close when needed as well as improve financial statement close processes
+ Assistance with Cash to Accrual accounting, open balance sheet preparation and purchase accounting
+ Assist with Audit Readiness
+ Lead technical accounting projects on matters, such as IPO/SPAC, ASC 480, 606, 718, 805 or 815, as well as SEC reporting
+ Prepare and review financial statements, footnotes, reconciliations, month-end close, accounting memos, and audit schedules for public filings (10-Q or 10-K)
**What you bring to the role:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA license (active or in process)
+ Five (5) or more years of experience within a public accounting firm and/or industry environment performing audit, accounting or consulting services for SEC registered public companies required
+ Proven experience and interest in technical accounting matters, such as
+ Exposure to Cash to GAAP conversions, IFRS to US GAAP conversions, and SEC reporting
+ Strong organizational skills including experience with planning and leading a project from start to finish
+ Capable of managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously while working independently and within a group environment
+ Robust written and verbal communication skills, including ability to adapt style and messaging to effectively communicate with professionals at all levels both within the client organization and the firm
+ Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, with a focus on details and accuracy
+ Travel as needed for firm meetings and client site visits up to 35%
