**Position Specific Description**
Reporting to the Director of Accounting, we are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our pipeline accounting and finance team. The ideal candidate will have at least eight years of oil and gas, midstream, or pipeline accounting experience with deep knowledge of financial reporting and analysis, and of US GAAP. If hired, you will be responsible for all aspects of property accounting for multiple midstream and pipeline projects.
**Job responsibilities:**
+ Responsible for all financial accounting processes for a $5B portfolio midstream and assets and investments
+ Lead monthly accounting close, including preparation and review of journal entries and financial analysis
+ Oversee maintenance and execution of SOX control environment and activities

**Responsibilities**
+ Oversees, monitors, approves, and is accountable for daily/weekly/monthly/yearly accounting functions, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, check run, payroll, and others as required, in accordance with legislation, contract terms, and PCL policy and procedures.

**Qualifications**

+ 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
+ Advanced construction knowledge; understands general construction terms and processes.
+ Expert knowledge and understanding of full-cycle accounting, with the ability to teach and mentor more junior staff.
+ Advanced knowledge of government legislation regarding payroll, accounting, and applicable generally accepted accounting practices and standards and ability to oversee the tracking, maintenance, and submittals required in line with legislative tax and deductions.
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to act with the required discretion when handling confidential information.

Our client, a $7B Utility company is looking for a Corporate Accounting Manager to lead a team focused on general ledger accounting for holding companies, a centralized service company, and other unregulated companies, not to include gas or electric utilities. In addition, this position oversees certain accounting processes across all business segments.
Essential Functions
+ Ensure that all necessary general ledger entries for assigned entities are identified and recorded timely to facilitate the monthly accounting close
+ Assign, monitor, and facilitate work of staff accountants
+ Approve journal entries, account reconciliations, trial balances, and schedules used for SEC filings
+ Oversee the preparation of and review schedules for regulatory filings, including the FERC Form 60
+ Oversee audit schedule preparation and interact with internal and external auditors
+ Answer questions from leadership, FP& A, and other interested parties about assigned entities and transactions
+ Perform, test, and ensure the adequacy of internal controls related to closing the books
+ Determine appropriate accounting treatment for complex transactions, working with the Accounting Research team as needed

Requirements
What Our Client is Looking For
+ Degree in Accounting or Finance
+ Minimum of 5+ years of experience, including a blend of corporate and public accounting roles.
+ Proven ERP expertise (hands-on MS Dynamics experience is a plus).
+ CPA certification preferred but not required.
+ Strong technical skills, including financial reporting and analytical review.

We are offering an exciting opportunity in the industrial services/distribution industry for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor based in Houston, Texas. You will be tasked with overseeing various accounting and administrative functions, which includes managing financial reports, reconciling bank statements, and handling accounts payable and receivable.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and ensure efficient processing of accounts payable and receivable
- Carry out general accounting duties such as monthly adjusting entries
- Conduct bank and general ledger reconciliations diligently
- Prepare and maintain a 13-week cash flow forecast
- Generate comprehensive financial reports
- Maintain the chart of accounts systematically
- Respond to information requests for tax preparation
- Take charge of sales tax matters
- Forecast profit & loss and balance sheet
- Calculate and process commission/bonus payments
- Utilize accounting software systems effectively
- Leverage ERP for enterprise resource planning
- Perform auditing tasks and billing functions when required.
Requirements
- Candidate must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accounting Manager/Supervisor.
- Proficiency in accounting software systems is required.
- Inventory experience required.
