We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead and oversee key financial processes at our client's office in Richmond, Virginia. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise, a proactive management style, and the ability to optimize departmental operations. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the company's financial operations.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including oversight of team two members.
- Lead the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
- Prepare and present financial reports and budgets to the company president, providing insights and recommendations.
- Oversee tax preparation and external audit processes, ensuring compliance with regulations and deadlines.
- Reconcile accounts and maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
- Post and review journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting department.
- Utilize QuickBooks and Appfolio systems to manage accounting and property management operations effectively.
Requirements - Proven experience in accounting, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of month-end close processes, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliation.
- Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements and budgets.
- Familiarity with tax preparation and financial audits.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks and property management software such as Appfolio.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.

**Required Qualifications**

+ Ability to analyze relevant facts and formulate technical accounting positions, considering statutory & regulatory guidance, insurance industry practices.

The base pay range for this position is $124.5 to 180,000 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. **Job Summary**
This highly visible role will lead technical accounting research and support for significant Dominion Energy projects and business transactions as well as corporate functions.
**Duties include the following:**
+ Serve as a key point of contact and provide leadership through functional advice, guidance, and expertise for various departments throughout the company, including Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Business Development, Corporate and Segment Accounting, SEC Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Corporate Finance, and others.
+ Lead special project teams and provide technical accounting support as a subject matter expert to cross-functional teams on various business transactions and complex accounting matters involving revenue recognition, leases, business combinations, long-lived assets, financing transactions, and regulatory accounting, among other topics.
+ Research technical accounting matters and document the Company's analysis, judgments and conclusions on complex transactions.
+ Communicate complex accounting concepts to senior management in both accounting and non-accounting functions, as well as external auditors and standard-setting and/or regulatory organizations.
+ Research, document, and coordinate implementation of new accounting standards.
+ Assist in preparing and reviewing disclosures in SEC Filings (e.g., Forms 10-K, 10-Q, etc.).
+ Independently and effectively interact with internal customers, as well as work with external auditors, on various accounting matters and projects.
**Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience**
6+ years of accounting experience; or 5 years of public accounting experience. Note: A Master's degree will count as one year of experience. A partial year of six months or more will be rounded up to one year of experience.
**Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include:**
+ CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred; comprehensive knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is a requirement.
+ Excellent and effective communication (written and verbal) around complex accounting concepts to all levels within the organization and outside the organization, including peers, senior management, auditors, and standard-setting and/or regulatory organizations.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Four year degree required in Accounting, Finance or similar preferred
• CPA candidate required
• Virginia-licensed CPA preferred
• Two or more years of general accounting experience in public accounting and/or corporate financial reporting with exposure to SEC reporting requirements
• Strong accounting skills including knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), SEC reporting requirements and XBRL
• Previous experience preparing and/or analyzing financial statements
• Previous experience drafting and/or reviewing notes to financial statements and other supplementary information (i.e., Management’s Discussion & Analysis (MD&A), exhibits, etc.)
• Previous project management experience preferred
• Ability to communicate in a clear and open manner through verbal, written, and non-verbal methods
• Requires mathematical skills that would be gained from a typical undergraduate accounting curriculum.
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office (Excel and Word, PowerPoint), Workiva wDesk, Oracle ERP and Oracle EPM

About this job

The Financial Reporting Analyst II will play an active role in the Company's SEC reporting and U.S. GAAP compliance processes. This position will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial information, analyzing and reporting on financial results, evaluating accounting policies and serving as a resource to assist in interpreting and providing solutions to technical accounting and business issues. The position will report to the Financial Reporting Senior Manager and will work closely with the company's Corporate Accounting, Investor Relations, Legal, Accounting Policy, Treasury, Tax, and Audit Service departments, as well as other management and external auditors.

What you will do – Essential Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, quarterly and annual earnings releases and SEC filings and annual proxy statement with support from leadership and the Sr. Analysts on the team
• Prepare and review various monthly and quarterly financial schedules, analyses, reconciliations and journal entries with support from leadership and the Sr. Analysts on the team
• Participate in special projects (e.g. new financial reporting regulations, implementation of new accounting standards and/or systems) and meetings. Serve as a functional expert in SEC and external reporting requirements for special projects and accounting initiatives.
• Identify and research technical accounting issues or developments, and provide necessary guidance to management or other departments
• Support the external audit process, including preparation of client-prepared schedules for quarterly reviews, annual audit and SOX 404 testing, as well as maintenance of financial reporting process documentation

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Fund Administrator I specializing in Financial Reporting to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial statements, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with reporting standards. Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate financial statements and customized shareholder reports, including balance sheets, cash flow analyses, and earnings data.
- Review financial performance metrics and address advisor inquiries related to fund performance.
- Compile necessary documentation and support materials for annual audits.
- Manage multiple tasks and deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of reports and client needs.
