+ Responsible for providing guidance to the Finance teams and the organization on statutory accounting, filings and regulatory requirements. Assist financial reporting teams as required to ensure all statutory filings are completed timely, efficiently and in compliance with state regulatory requirements.

The base pay range for this position is $124.5 to 180,000 USD Annual. **Job Summary**
This highly visible role will lead technical accounting research and support for significant Dominion Energy projects and business transactions as well as corporate functions.
**Duties include the following:**
+ Serve as a key point of contact and provide leadership through functional advice, guidance, and expertise for various departments throughout the company, including Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Business Development, Corporate and Segment Accounting, SEC Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Corporate Finance, and others.

+ Research, document, and coordinate implementation of new accounting standards.
+ Assist in preparing and reviewing disclosures in SEC Filings (e.g., Forms 10-K, 10-Q, etc.).
+ Independently and effectively interact with internal customers, as well as work with external auditors, on various accounting matters and projects.
**Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience**
6+ years of accounting experience; or 5 years of public accounting experience. Note: A Master's degree will count as one year of experience. A partial year of six months or more will be rounded up to one year of experience.
**Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include:**
+ CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred; comprehensive knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is a requirement.
+ Excellent and effective communication (written and verbal) around complex accounting concepts to all levels within the organization and outside the organization, including peers, senior management, auditors, and standard-setting and/or regulatory organizations.

What you will do – Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, quarterly and annual earnings releases and SEC filings and annual proxy statement with support from leadership and the Sr. Analysts on the team
- Prepare and review various monthly and quarterly financial schedules, analyses, reconciliations and journal entries with support from leadership and the Sr. Analysts on the team
- Participate in special projects (e.g. new financial reporting regulations, implementation of new accounting standards and/or systems) and meetings. Serve as a functional expert in SEC and external reporting requirements for special projects and accounting initiatives.
- Identify and research technical accounting issues or developments, and provide necessary guidance to management or other departments
- Support the external audit process, including preparation of client-prepared schedules for quarterly reviews, annual audit and SOX 404 testing, as well as maintenance of financial reporting process documentation

Qualifications and Requirements
- Four year degree required in Accounting, Finance or similar preferred
- CPA candidate required
- Virginia-licensed CPA preferred
- Two or more years of general accounting experience in public accounting and/or corporate financial reporting with exposure to SEC reporting requirements
- Strong accounting skills including knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), SEC reporting requirements and XBRL
- Previous experience preparing and/or analyzing financial statements
- Previous experience drafting and/or reviewing notes to financial statements and other supplementary information (i.e., Management’s Discussion & Analysis (MD&A), exhibits, etc.)
- Previous project management experience preferred
- Ability to communicate in a clear and open manner through verbal, written, and non-verbal methods
- Requires mathematical skills that would be gained from a typical undergraduate accounting curriculum.
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office (Excel and Word, PowerPoint), Workiva wDesk, Oracle ERP and Oracle EPM
