Requirements
The Eye Care Professional is responsible for interacting with customers on a daily basis to uncover needs for the patient's lifestyle and recommend specialized products based on those needs as well as assist patients in frame selection this includes taking measurements, fit, and adjust glasses, troubleshoot patient's vision complaints, and teach customers how to properly wear and care for their eyeglasses and contact lenses.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Obtain patient's prescription from ophthalmologist or optometrist
- Gather patient's information including vision and medical insurance information
- Schedule, confirm and maintain appointments
- Recommend frames, lenses and products that are suitable for the patient's style, face and specifications
- Adjust and fit frames according to the prescription and patient's specifications, as well as to the patient's face.
- Prepare and submit the order to the proper lab for manufacturing
- Be able to use equipment such as lensometer, auto refractor, pupilometer, calipers and hand tools
- Assist with frame inventory, contact lens inventory, marketing materials and office supplies
- Teaching patients how to wear and care for both contact lenses and eyeglasses
- Repairing or replacing broken frames
- Administrative duties such as filing, following up on orders, following up with patients, answering phones, assisting the doctor with special orders and referrals
- Multi-tasking to help patients in a timely manner
This is a part-time onsite position and core hours of work are Saturday - 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Travel:
Travel between locations in Pinellas County may be required and scheduled at the discretion of the Optical Lead or designee.

As a Veterinary Ophthalmology Technician at MVA, you'll play a vital role in assisting our Ophthalmologist and the entire care team with diagnosing and managing various eye conditions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing patients for examinations and procedures, such as pupil dilation and administering topical medications while ensuring patient comfort.
- Collecting thorough patient histories and performing initial ocular exams, including measuring intraocular pressure (IOP) and assessing tear production.
- Assisting with specialized diagnostics like slit-lamp biomicroscopy, tonometry, and ocular ultrasound, as guided by the Ophthalmologist.
- Monitoring anesthesia and sedation during procedures such as electroretinography (ERG) or surgery.

Job Description
+ Main training responsibility will be focused on the ocular surface and anterior segment, with a sub-focus on a secondary section of the eye. The clinical training includes but is not limited to training for: representatives on the sales team, DMs, MSLs, National Accounts, and Marketing
+ Demonstrates direct and open communication within Training & Development and with all stakeholders resulting in positive relationships and mutual understanding and agreement
