Job Description
The Chief Nursing Officer is a registered professional nurse with comprehensive responsibility for the assessment, problem identification, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and coordination of all processes which impact the quality and quantity of care delivered to the patients at their assigned facility. The Chief Nursing Officer is responsible for employing strategies to foster health promotion, health teaching, and the provision of educational services and resources. Under the Chief Nursing Officers guidance, evaluation of outcomes is completed in order to assure that the quality of practice delivered by the facility is directed at improving care delivery and population outcomes. Adheres to the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics, the ANA Scope and Standard for Nursing Practice, and the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) Nurse Executive Competencies. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) provides physician leadership. Responsible for improving clinical outcomes for internally tracked performance improvement data and publicly reported outcomes. Overall responsibility for performance improvement, risk management, safety and clinical quality, continuing medical education, the medical staff office, medical school affiliation(s), and residency programs. Qualifications

May perform the duties in compliance with the role and responsibilities specific to the Nurse Technician in which demonstrated competency in nursing school and under the direct observation of a licensed nurse (RN/LPN).
