Base Pay Range: $60,571 - $90,857

Position Summary

The Technical Support Specialist will provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for Banner products to enhance customer satisfaction. They collaborate with the Applications Engineers team to create solutions for our customers. Be a part of a cohesive team of experts striving to strengthen our relationships with our customers. This is an in-office position at our corporate headquarters.

This position reports to the Application Engineering Manager.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Providing technical consultation, product support and recommendation to Banner Area Sales Managers, Field Sales Representatives, distributors, and customers
  • Managing multiple priorities including incoming phone calls, emails, chats and responding to direct sales team member communications
  • Conducting in-house tests to solve real-life customer applications
  • Supporting the sales regions with tasks such as vetting and processing, product returns with technical issues (RMA) requests, price, and availability
  • Utilizing the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to input and maintain complete, accurate, and timely entries of technical summaries, customer information, and sales opportunities for all cases worked
  • Providing timely follow-up as needed to Banner Area Sales Managers, Field Sales Representatives, distributors, and customers

Pay Transparency

nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Job Title: Specialist, Technical Sales Support

Job Summary/Overview

The Specialist, Technical Sales Support will be responsible for the daily processing of request for Quotations for aftermarket parts. This position will also include providing technical support to distributors and end users on our various product lines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support of overall aftermarket parts sales.
  • Research operating manuals, serial records, and technical documents.
  • Assist customers in identifying and pricing aftermarket parts associated with our various products.
  • Provide technical support to distributors and end users for our product lines.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, purchasing, logistics, and other organizations to provide accurate lead-times for aftermarket parts.
  • Responsible for entering product data in our internal ERP’s and electronic tools to provide formal estimates to distributors.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret parts & operating manuals, internal serial records, and technical procedures.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong data collection and analytical skills; strong organization, computer, and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and approach assignments with sense of urgency.
  • Organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt in fast- paced environment.
  • Must be punctual and possess a strong work ethic.
  • Initiative-taker with a positive attitude.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1-3+ years of customer service or sales experience
  • SAP knowledge

Compensation

$21.00/HR – $26.00/hour+ benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in incentive plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Technical Sales Support’s job is primarily to provide technical assistance for customer inquiries, intercompany technical support and concerns and requests regarding products and services either by telephone and/or electronically.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as a technical contact for all channels and regions
  • Work with Sales, Marketing, Quality Control, and Engineering regarding customer input and Product issues
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries via phone and email
  • Handle and resolve customer complaints
  • Process Warranty and Courtesy Replacement orders
  • Record customer calls and emails into our Salesforce (CRM) system pertaining to inquiries, comments and complaints
  • Record details of actions taken
  • Communicate directly with internal and external customers
  • Assist in product set up spreadsheets for all channels
  • Other duties as required

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as being a self-starter of improvement projects
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Must have the ability to work well within a business environment and the ability to multitask

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: HS Diploma required, some college

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in a technical sales support
  • Knowledge sufficient to discuss complex plumbing solutions with customers.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Programs including Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Experience in SAP is required

Competencies:

  • Need to possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external business partners.
  • Must work efficiently, independently with accuracy, maintain confidential information, exercise sound judgment, make accurate and timely decisions.
  • Have experience and the ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Specialized Skills:

Position Overview
This person will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) in hydrostatic testing, attending client meetings alongside our sales team to provide technical expertise. Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the domain expert on hydrostatic testing in client meetings and site visits with senior sales representatives.
