The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Global Sales Compensation (GSC) Operations team is seeking a Sales Compensation Systems Analyst to join our operations team. As part of the GSC Operations team, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day administration of the Varicent ICM sales compensation system for sales incentive-eligible employees globally. Objectives for this role will include driving operational process improvements in compensation, quota management, compensation adjustments, quarterly payouts, compensation plan administration, and improving the scalability of our program tools.
This role requires working with global business owners in HR, Legal, Sales, Finance, Sales Operations, Revenue, Segmentation, Product & Technology, and our Business Intelligence team to ensure the proper plan design, calculation, delivery, and execution of sales commissions. Cross-team coordination, time management, and excellent communication skills are essential. It is key that we pay employees on time and accurately.
Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate has a proven track record for rolling up their sleeves, maintaining a high level of ownership and accountability and delivering best-in-class support to their internal and external customers.
Support the day-to-day administration of sales compensation including:
- Validates data; quantifies impact through data analysis and communicates proposed resolutions and timelines to leadership.
- Identifies operational risks and engages necessary stakeholders to frame issues and the desired end states
- Communicates effectively with technical teams on root causes of issues and business requirements.
- User acceptance testing (UAT) for process and system updates.
- Assist with the distribution of incentive compensation plans, including plan set up, quota shifts, revenue adjustments, etc.
- Ensuring all compensation methodologies, policies, procedures and governance are followed.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including, HR, Tax, and Legal to ensure all compensation methodologies, policies, and procedures are maintained in production
- Support the global quarterly commission payout process including manual compensation adjustments, calculations and approval process
- Create mechanisms to help improve efficiency of processes.
- Strong Excel & SQL skills preferred.

Basic Qualifications

Your role will involve close collaboration with Cloud Architects, Systems Engineers, Software Engineers, and Operations Managers to manage an effective cloud strategy, ensuring all technical documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Most work will be conducted on-site at client locations in Bethesda, MD or Reston, VA, with occasional remote tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Deploy and troubleshoot cloud initiatives according to industry best practices during the development lifecycle.
Utilize strong problem-solving skills to resolve technical challenges.
Design and conceptualize web services in the cloud environment.
Create and implement robust cloud-based platforms for the program.
Coordinate with the DTP team to prioritize product backlogs for Agile sprints and releases.
Assist with monitoring technical variances and facilitate resolution of issues impacting product delivery.
Support identification and management of external dependencies as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience with 8-12 years in systems engineering or a relevant domain; a Master's degree with 6+ years experience is also acceptable.
Active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
Experience with Commercial Cloud Services (C2S).
Familiarity with security protocols in classified environments.
Proficient in AWS cloud services (EC2, ELB/ALB, S3, EFS, VPC, AWS CLI).
Experience with Amazon EKS and Kubernetes or Openshift for container orchestration.
Knowledge of SecDevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience working with Linux operating systems.
Understanding of web services including APIs and REST.
Strong knowledge of networking and internet protocols.
Proficient in open-source technologies and software development methodologies.
Experience in scripting and tooling using UNIX shell, Python, Perl, or similar languages.
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CDK or CloudFormation.
Experience with configuration management tools such as Salt or Ansible.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
Able to work well with individuals from various disciplines and differing technical expertise.
Preferred Qualifications:
