Job Description:
We are actively hiring a Quality Control Inspector for the 1st and 2nd Shift Monday - Friday. Experienced, competent Quality Control Inspectors must be highly skilled and have the ability to work with great concentration and precision. Must be responsible and comply with all safety guidelines. Having a keen eye for detail and great mechanical aptitude are essential. The goal is to produce high-quality parts and materials by inspecting them.
Duties:
Perform visual and mechanical inspection using measurement and test equipment such as: calipers, micrometers, pin gages, bore gages, height gage, angle protractor and optical comparator.
Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from the vendor, in-process parts being manufactured, and outgoing products for shipping.
Conduct parts verification and Blueprint interpretation for dimensional and visual checks.
Strong understanding of GD&T and Functional knowledge of metrology.
Initiate and act on discrepancy / non-conformance as necessary.
Conduct internal investigations on root cause of non-conformance/ failure and finding disposition of non-conformance.
Develop and implement procedures for technical processes to increase process control efficiency.
Assure that the documentation of the quality system is controlled, maintained, and recorded in a manner consistent with the requirements of ISO9001-2015 and DMC Power quality requirements.
Strong organizational skills for document tracking, audits, and certifications support.
Maintain database systems used to document quality functions.
Requirements:
Knowledge of ERP systems highly preferred.

The Quality Control Inspector role is an entry level job responsible for Asphalt and Aggregate inspection and QC testing to ensure it meets and exceeds the standards and specifications prescribed by our customers.
Quality Control Inspector Responsibilities:
- Roadway Testing -- Set efficient rolling patterns to obtain maximum compaction in both Mississippi and Tennessee.
- Gradations -- Demonstrate knowledge in the different types of aggregates and gradations that are needed for aggregate suppliers and perform tests accurately.
- Asphalt Mix Designs -- Demonstrate knowledge in the methods of asphalt mix design in both states, including both gyratory and Marshall Methods as well as specialty mixes like OGFC and SMA.
- Private design co-ordination -- Confirm blend used by each plant for private work is what is submitted.
- Aggregate entry and co-ordination -- Coordinate the correct stockpiles of all materials including with the MS&G tech to verify same gradations are used.
- Communicate and work with state highway inspectors (AR, MS & TN), as well as private engineering inspectors and project managers and superintendents.
- Care and maintenance of testing equipment and work area.
Quality Control Inspector Requirements:
- Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D certification
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products -- Outlook, Word and Excel
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
- Travel between North MS and West TN as needed
- Ability to commute to Hernando, MS for extended training
Preferred Qualifications:
- Civil Engineering technology or related experience a plus
- Prior asphalt testing experience
