**Your Challenge:**
+ Works with team to procure, assemble, and test various equipment/tooling
+ Responsible for all the shop activities
+ Coordinate other team members from engineering, design, services, etc. when shop work includes them
+ Interface with suppliers

**What You Bring:**

+ Equipment functional testing experience (mechanical/hydraulic/ load test)
+ Ability to gain access to nuclear power facilities
+ Ability to prioritize competing needs in dynamic environment
Additional preferred qualifications:
+ Ability to read/interpret electrical assembly drawings, schematics, part drawings, layouts
+ Knowledge and experience in electrical assembly
+ Familiarity with welding
+ Familiarity with part finishing (paint/ anodize/passive/ electropolish)

FUNCTION: Perform the necessary inspection and assembly work on a variety of new technology gas turbine engines. Follow specified procedures to perform assembly related activities including all aspects of engine assembly, assembly tooling usage, critical measurements, and instrumentation management during assembly operations. Assist in adjustments to tools and equipment as necessary to perform work and meet process requirements during engine assembly.

+ Under direction of leader/supervisor, follow assembly drawings and/or specifications and computer information systems to prepare parts and build subassemblies, modules and accessories for new gas turbine engines where tooling and process methods are established.

+ Use overhaul and repair procedures and specifications to perform the mechanical work to overhaul engines, modules and related components.
+ Obtain parts, check details for conformance to assembly requirements and fit and measure components to assure overall dimensions are within specified limits.
+ Use mechanic's hand tools, holding fixtures, and specialized assembly equipment to build engine sections and perform installation of details and maintain equipment and tooling for assigned areas.
+ Provide related support for test operations and assist with testing under direct supervision and specific test schedules.
+ Perform similar duties to assist with co-producer, customer support or other similar programs, retrofit projects and to accommodate new engine programs and assist with changes in specifications.

Pratt & Whitney, a recognized leading producer of the world's most advanced commercial and military turbine engines, is seeking a talented individual to join our organization in our Engineering Development Program. This position is within Pratt & Whitney's Middletown Connecticut - Assembly Equipment Engineering Design team.
The Assembly Equipment Engineering Design Engineer will work with other disciplines; Project, Process Planning, Product Design Engineering, to fulfill the task of designing equipment for the assembly, disassembly, inspection, repair, and test of Pratt & Whitney commercial and military development and mature jet engines.
**What You Will Do**
+ Responsibilities may include working on tasks related to commercial engines, military engines or both depending on business need. May be required to obtain a security clearance.
+ Produce technically sound computer aided design models and drawings for equipment used in the assembly, disassembly, and inspection of Pratt & Whitney engine products.
+ Utilize standardized procedures and CORE tools to continuously improve the assembly equipment design process.
+ Provide support for development engine assembly process changes.
+ Provide support for new and revised equipment initial try-outs.
+ Provide support for physical equipment alterations and manufacture through interfacing with machinists.
+ Must be able and willing to obtain security clearance.
**What You Will Learn**
+ Candidates hired will begin their first 2 years at Pratt & Whitney as part of the Engineering Development Program (EDP) under the Development Operations (DO) or Product Safety, Certification, Validation & Engineering Quality (PSCV&EQ) Organization. This consists of three rotations of approximately 8-months in duration in three different departments across either or both of our two organizations (DO/PSCV&EQ).
+ Upon their 2-year graduation, they will return to their hiring department (1st rotation) for at least 1 year. The intent of our EDP is to offer breadth & depth in various technical experiences through challenging positions available in our organizations. This program will help expand your professional and technical competencies that will serve as the foundation for exceptional contributions that you will make at Pratt & Whitney.

+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field
+ Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0
