**Summary:**

+ The Accountant role is responsible for supporting the financial responsibilities of the Finance Department by assisting in the preparation and review of account analyses, and working on projects related to data reporting. This position is key in supporting accounting operations and their customers by providing periodic financial and accounting reports to internal and external parties.

**Responsibilities:**

+ Assist in monthly financial close process Including reviews, analyses, and distribution of internal and external financial information.

+ Prepares Journal Entries.

+ Prepares and reviews account analysis.

+ Assists in month end close process.

+ Assists in all audit processes.

+ Retrieves and sets reports from support systems (ie PennChart, EPIC, Pennfor)

+ Data mines from HPM.

+ Assists in setting reports and forms in Planning.

+ Works on projects related to data and process improvement.

+ All Other duties as assigned.

A Brief Overview
In collaboration with an attending physician, the Hospital Provider Nurse Practitioner is responsible for the direct care and follow-up of a population of patients that matches his/her delineation of privileges and skill set. This care is delivered in defined inpatient and hospital-outpatient areas. The components of the role include clinical practice, consultation, professional development, education, and research. The clinical portion of this role will require increased level of accountability including managing a cohort of high acuity patients. In addition to managing patient care, the Hospital Provider NP may be required to utilize invasive interventions and procedures to promote physiologic stability.

This role is strictly nights and weekends. Night shift being 16 hour shift and weekend being 24 hour shift. Schedules may vary at the discretion of the Medical Director.


What you will do

  • Assesses the complex acute, critical and chronically ill patient for urgent and emergent conditions. Uses relevant data to evaluate for physiologic instability. Utilizes the data to formulate a plan of care.
  • Performs therapeutic interventions to stabilize acute and critical health problems. Specific interventions are listed in the Scope of Practice Document and approved as a part of the credentialing/privileging process.
  • Analyzes the indications, contraindications, risk of complications and cost-benefits of therapeutic interventions.
  • Manages the plan of care through evaluation, modification and documentation according to the patient's response to therapy. Manages changes in condition with a focus on optimizing the patient outcomes.
  • Incorporates health promotion, health protection and injury prevention measures into the plan of care within the context of the complex acute, critical and chronic illness.
  • Facilitates the patient's transitions between and within health care settings.
  • Serves as an educational resource to the patient/family, nursing staff, and provider team. Acts as a consultant to multidisciplinary health care team members.
  • Participates in scholarly activities including research and education. Participates in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriate educational offerings. Participates in the professional development of others. Acts as a preceptor and mentor to support the development of nurses, nurse practitioners, students, and other health care providers.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to patient safety by speaking up about safety issues and changing practice to enhance safety. Shares errors or potential errors through system reporting mechanisms. Demonstrates shared accountability for safe practice.

Summary:

The Senior Improvement Advisor is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the quality, patient safety, and operational performance program of service lines and departments. The Senior Improvement Advisor serves as a change-agent for entity-wide service lines and departments, and supports teams connected to those areas. The Senior Improvement Advisor provides partners with the most current PI methods and tools, including project management support. The Senior Improvement Advisor mentors and coaches local team Improvement Advisors, providing support and experience for local process improvement when needed. This work includes, but is not limited to, facilitation of PI projects and kaizen events; management and surveillance of data for PI opportunities; messaging trends in the data to leadership, departments, and staff; training and mentorship to entry-level Improvement Advisors; education of front-line staff in the latest PI methods; and responding to serious safety events. This position is accountable for facilitating improvement in the areas of patient satisfaction, clinical quality, and patient safety, operations, and continuous survey readiness.

Position is a hybrid of working at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and working off site.

Position Description:

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Key Areas:

• Mentoring, teaching, and coaching teams, providing feedback, support, and direction as needed.

• Provide departments, service lines, and partners with the most current PI methods, assisting in seeking areas for improvement and the

facilitation of projects.

• Able to competently evaluate the quality, patient safety, and overall performance of selected departments and service lines.

• Facilitates improvement activities to insure safe, effective, and compliant patient services.

• Maintains and models organization’s Core Values.

  1. Planning & Facilitation:

• Helps teams plan and stay organized

• Sets pace for team projects

• Keeps teams on track in PI cycle and project timelines

• Actively assists with planning and implementing PI strategies for the entity

• Collaborates with leadership & frontlines to effectively prioritize problem solving

  1. Problem Solving:

• Keeps focus on processes, not people

• Promptly investigates serious safety events and quality concerns

• Provides PI support for process redesign after a serious event

• Applies PI methods and tools appropriately

• Provides PI support for continuous survey readiness as needed

  1. Coaching, Mentoring & Teaching:

• Is a PI teacher for multiple levels of the entity

• Asks insightful questions

• Challenges teams and leaders to improve their PI work

• Is clear & concise, makes learning points understood

• Gives useful feedback

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree required

Clinical experience strongly preferred

3+ years’ Experience in planning, implementation, and evaluation of a performance improvement plan, (preferably in a health care field) required

If applicant holds a medical license, (e.g. RN) proof of active and in good standing licensure is required

Master’s degree in medicine, nursing, patient safety and quality, other healthcare related field, business or health policy preferred

Process Improvement Experience: Six Sigma Black Belt/Lean Certification/IHI Improvement Advisor training (e.g. Six Sigma PDSA (Plan Do Study Act) or PDCA (Plan Do Check Act)) or equivalent experience (e.g. leading or facilitating large scale projects across multiple areas and familiarity in process improvement methodology).

Clinical Experience: Candidates will be considered if there is commensurate work experience in healthcare performance improvement (e.g. healthcare quality, patient safety, or consulting within organizations that provide clinical treatment or preventative care services).

Quality & Safety Standards in Healthcare: Knowledge of national standards and outcomes for quality, safety and healthcare such as CMS Core

Measures & Value Based Purchasing, AHRQ PSI’s, Leapfrog is preferred; experience preferred, but classroom learning or Certified Professional in

Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS), etc. accepted. Root cause analysis experience is desired
