BVHS Wellness Park - the NEW, state-of-the-art healthcare campus in Findlay offers endocrinology/diabetes management, rheumatology, primary care and is adjacent to orthopedics, sports medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation, podiatry, occupational/physical/speech therapy, outpatient lab and radiology.
SCHEDULE OPTIONS
- Part-time or Full-time (2-5 days/week - 4hr, 8hr, 10hr, 12hr days)
- Week On/Week Off (7am-7pm Mon-Thurs, 7am-5pm Fri, 4hr Sat)
- Choice of schedule and workweek, option of extended morning or evening hours
- Diverse spectrum of interesting and complex patients
- Ability to choose patient mix and practice at top of license
- 24-hour in-house hospitalist services
- Full complement of medical and surgical specialties available for support
- Weekly onsite CME and CME/grand rounds available through Mayo Clinic Care Network
- State-of-the-Art Surgical and Inpatient Facilities and Technology
- Base salary that continues beyond the first contract term plus wRVU bonus, loan assistance, signing bonus, relocation, CME stipend

Patient Care Technician / Surgery / Full Time Delivers direct/indirect care to patients of all ages from neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, and adult to geriatric, under the delegation/direction/supervision of a physician, registered nurse, and/or licensed practical nurse. Assists in maintaining a safe, clean environment and performs clerical/administrative functions as assigned. Demonstrates critical thinking/clinical reasoning in decision making to assure the delivery of safe, quality, timely, compassionate, and cost-effective care to the patient populations served by the department(s)/unit(s)/area(s). Effectively communicates and collaborates both intra- and interdepartmentally with patients, families, physicians, administration and other healthcare team members. Documents accurately and in a timely manner. Adheres to organizational policies and procedures; and regulatory/accrediting body requirements.
Job Duties:
- Provides/assists with and accurately documents patient monitoring.
- Provides/assists with and accurately documents activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Changes bed linens and straightens/organizes the patient's room throughout shift; provides extra linens, blankets, as needed; safeguards personal items.
- Transports patients
- Accurately documents the appropriate set-up, use, adjustment, application, discontinuation, and/or cleaning of patient care equipment.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum Certification:
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification required.
Preferred Certification/License:
- STNA, Medical Assistant, or CNA preferred.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and/or geriatric patient care experience preferred.

Job Duties:
- Under the delegation/direction/supervision of the physician, registered nurse, and/or licensed practical nurse and within the scope of practice, provides/assists with and accurately documents activities of daily living (ADLs) which include but are not limited to
- Bathing
- Dressing and undressing
- Oral care
- Hair Care
- Toileting
- Personal hygiene
- Preparing patients for meal times by assisting those that need help in getting positioned properly.
- Feeding patients requiring help or assisting with tray/food set-up
- Providing fresh drinking water.
- Observing and recording the patient's intake and output, and/or calorie count; and notifying the RN of any deviations from the usual.
- Obtaining accurate blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, and SaO2 and notifying the RN of abnormal vital signs immediately.
- Applying and/or removing non-sterile dressings and compresses and reporting abnormal findings to the RN.
- Changing bed linen and straightening/organizing/tidying the patient's room throughout shift; providing extra linens, blankets, as needed; safeguarding personal items.
- Answering call lights promptly and assisting/following up on patient needs.
- Transporting patients. Patients who require cardiac monitoring must also be accompanied by an ACLS trained staff member.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Current STNA (State Tested Nurse Aide) certification preferred.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification required. Previous neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and/or geriatric patient care experience preferred.
