Qualifications:

- Proven expertise in cake decorating, sugar work, chocolate tempering, and viennoiserie.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Creative vision and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Knowledge of food costing and inventory management.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and executing a diverse range of high-quality desserts, pastries, breads, and confections for the hotel's restaurants, banquets, and room service.
- Creating innovative and visually appealing dessert menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends.
- Managing, training, and mentoring a team of pastry cooks and bakers, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Ensuring all pastry and bakery items meet the hotel's exacting standards for taste, quality, and presentation.
- Controlling inventory, ordering ingredients, and managing food costs for the pastry department.
- Maintaining impeccable standards of hygiene, sanitation, and food safety in the pastry kitchen.
- Collaborating with the Executive Chef and other culinary team members to ensure seamless execution of all food offerings.
- Developing special dessert creations for events, holidays, and VIP guests.
- Managing the maintenance and cleanliness of pastry equipment and workstations.
- Staying current with pastry techniques, ingredients, and presentation styles.
- Conducting quality control checks on all finished products before they are served.
- Implementing and enforcing all hotel policies and procedures within the pastry department.
- Managing relationships with suppliers of specialty ingredients and baking supplies.

- Ensuring timely production and delivery of all pastry orders.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Baking, or Pastry Arts from a reputable institution, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in pastry arts, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or lead pastry role, preferably in a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant.
- Demonstrated expertise in a wide variety of baking and pastry techniques, including cake decorating, chocolate work, sugar craft, and artisan bread making.
- Exceptional creativity, artistic flair, and attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of flavor profiles and ingredient pairings.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage a pastry department budget and control costs.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations (e.g., ServSafe).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- A passion for creating memorable culinary experiences for guests.
- Portfolio of previous pastry work is highly recommended.
