Quality Assurance Inspector

The Quality Assurance Inspector ensures the crate manufacturing processes and procedures are adhered to in order to meet the standards and requirements of the customer. The Quality Assurance Inspector may visually inspect or manually test products or processes before, during, or after the manufacturing process. They also record, monitor, and analyze data to pass on to the Operations, Sr. Management, and Quality teams.

Essential Functions:

  • Must wear steel toe boots and other required personal protection equipment.
  • Top 3-5 essential functions and percentage of time spent on each:
  • Inspection of crates 50%
    • Accepts or rejects completed work products by verifying the product or process meets the customer specifications and requirements through measurements and visual inspection.
    • Inspect product or process with specialized tools. This may include weighing or measuring finished products, assessing moisture content of wood, visually inspecting workmanship and/or gauging product reliability.
    • Uses proprietary software to track and update quality data and assists in delivery of reports to Operations, Sr. Management or Quality departments.
  • Improvement Recommendations 40%
    • Reviews specifications, standards and/or test plans of customer designs, and reports feedback to the Design department.
    • Reviews, implements and follows up on corrective actions derived from customer complaints, customer returns, and/or non-conformances found and their root causes.
    • Participates in ISO audits to ensure local and company-wide compliance to specified standards.
  • Communication to Production 10%
    • Gives feedback to Production department regarding any errors or non-conformances in the assembly process verbally or through written documentation.

Education/Knowledge/Skill Requirements:

  • 6 mo. to 1 year of wood products manufacturing experience desired
  • 1 year of quality inspection experience desired
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent helpful
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing English. Bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • Proficient (intermediate skills) in the MS Suite (Word, Excel) and ability to learn proprietary software
  • Ability to read tape measure in and ?, etc. gradients
  • Experience in blueprint and design reading helpful
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, high volume manufacturing environment

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position combines hands-on testing expertise with strong organizational skills. You will work cross-functionally with development, business analysts, product managers, and DevOps teams to ensure that our products meet the highest levels of functionality, performance, and security. QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of proven experience in software QA.
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies and processes, including requirements analysis, test planning, test case design, defect management, and risk-based testing.
  • Experience with test management and defect tracking tools, such as JIRA and TestRail.
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Selenium).
  • Proficiency in writing automated test scripts using JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development teams.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $85,600 and $117,700 per year, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including target bonus plans and discretionary awards. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan, as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee's eligible dependents. Employees will also receive 80 hours of vacation per year, 56 hours of paid sick leave annually, and 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, depending on hire date. Requirements:

  • 5+ years of combined Automation and QA testing experience
  • 3+ years of automation experience
  • 2+ years of automation coding in C#
  • Automation testing tools such as Selenium, Jmeter and SoapUI/API
  • Continuous testing in a CI/CD environment such as Azure DevOps
  • Automation test framework, such as xUnit Preferred
  • Visual studio, git repository or other development IDEs and tools.
  • Strong SQL knowledge and basic understanding of Databases such as MS SQL server
  • Working in an Agile development process.
  • Bachelors in computer science or related field.
